13 days post-op and back in the hospital!!
Awww...I am sorry too! I will certainly pray for you. I pray that God to lay his healing hands on you and that your recovery from both will be very quick. Keep your spirits up!
(((Big hugs for you)))

So sorry to hear this. I am fighting tooth and nail not to go back to hospital but don't know how long more to go. I swear adding anything to my diet is pure torture. I feel hot all over, my chest hurts like no end, I feel like throwing up, God what am I doing wrong. I am so afraid to eat but am getting hungry. I hate the protein stuff and ran out of the sample chewables I got. Please someone send me some ideas. It is a major laborious process to put a tiny bit of mashed potatoes down my throat. Am I taking in too much air, too much food, eating too fast geez what is it? Will I ever get better and enjoy some of the food i eat again? I keep wondering if I will ever be able to enjoy a cold drink of water or tea on a hot summer day or will I have to sip for the rest of my life?
I am so sorry to be venting with you while you are in your predicament but I did not know who or what else to vent on this is really scaring me and I am so tired of it. I will keep you in my prayers every night and pray that you get better soon. At least they made a quick diagnosis and you are in the best care possible! God speed!

To both of my sleeve sisters - I hope you both feel better soon. I will say a prayer for both of you and Cassandra I hope you are released from the hospital soon.
AML216, I know the protein is hard to get down right now, but it's so important to get in. I am not on soft foods yet, so I can't speak to how that will feel, but perhaps you'll get some relief if you back off and go to full liquids for a bit? I did hear someone in my diet class today who is about a week ahead say that mashed potatoes were very hard to eat yet.
Here is a recipe for black bean soup that we are allowed right now that has some protein, (and I love black bean soup anyway):
1 can of black beans
Chicken bullion cubes or broth - about a cup or cup and a half
~ 1/2 tsp cumin
Combine this and bring to a boil. Once it boils, remove and let it sit to cool a bit so you can put it in a blender. Add sour cream to taste (I did a couple heaping tablespoons), and blend thoroughly.
If you have a GNC nearby, I'd recommend picking up some Isopure protein liquid. I am at a point where the chocolate and vanilla protein shakes are making me queasy, so the Isopure has been a good change for me anyway.
I hope this helps and that you get some relief soon.
Take care,
Mel
