What do you eat now ????
VSG on 04/06/12
Hi Sean,
I am 3 years out and I can eat "normally" if I want to. I have figured out how to eat around my sleeve and I can easily put down 30 cookies a day, if I am not diligent and am dancing with carb devil.
With that said, here is an example of what I eat most days:
breakfast: Syntrax Nectar Chocolate Truffle hot chocolate 23g protein
morning snack: 3oz Cottage Cheese
Lunch: Syntrax Nectar Choc. Truf. hot chocolate
afternoon snack: avacado with some kind of meat, a little ranch and some good cheese like pecorino
Dinner: whatever meat we are having with dinner (about 2 oz, and then green vegetables)
Night time: another Syntrax Nectar choc. truffle
Why all the protein drinks this far out? Because I went for about 9 months without them and my health suffered greatly, I had a 20lb regain and my red blood count (anemia) was so so bad. I realize that the imino acids in the protein shakes are key to building blood. Now I have been back on the shakes for 2 months and have lost 12 lbs of my regain and my energy and blood levels are much, much better.
Hope that helps,
Heather

I'm a year and a half out and although today is probably not a good day to share here goes
Breakfast- one egg
Snack - handful of peanuts
Lunch - about 2oz of turkey & a couple spoons of green beans
snack - peanut butter & crackers
Supper - the top off a piece of pizza & a few chips
snack - small piece of cake & ice cream (it was my nieces bday party)
Like I said probably not the best day to share but we are all human and today was one of those days.

I am 2.5 years out. Here is a typical day for me
B: two hard boiled eggs and two Laughing Cow cheeses smashed together
S: veggies with hummus
L: 2 oz. meat (chicken, beef, fish, protein of some kind) one oz. veggies.
S: 1/4 almonds
D: Salad w/ 2 oz. protein
Maybe, a late night snack of steamed artichoke and Greek yogurt homemade dip.
This is when I am being good, which is about 80% of the time, then there is the 15% of the time, when I will eat out and make less fantastic but not outrageously bad choices, and then there is the 5% of so of the time, when I say, heck with it, and have a drink and the most amazing dessert or bread or whatever I want. I am in maintenance and have been for about 2 years. I mostly don't drink my calories, graze or eat bread, pasta or rice. I go out to restaurants a few times a week, have a drink once in a while and enjoy my life. I am 103 lbs. on most days.

Happy New Year to you too!!!
I'm almost 2 years out and have been happily maintaining for over a year. I am hypoglycemic so I must eat ever couple of hours or my sugars crash. So a "normal" day in my life is.......
7 am - Protein Shake
10 am - 1/2c Cottage Cheese & 1/2c Libbys Skinny Tropical Fruit
12-1230 pm - 2.5 oz Chicken Salad with a few Triscuits
3 pm - 1/2c Cottage Cheese & 1/2c Libbys Skinny Tropical Fruit
6 pm - Protein Shake
9 pm - 2 String Cheese & 1 serving of oven roasted almonds w/sea salt
My late night snack is the most calorie/fat dense meal/snack of the day. This seems to work at getting me through the night w/out a sugar crash at 3 am.
On a "good" day I usually consume between 1200-1500 calories. The above is 1318 calories, 156 grams protein and 68 carbs. I also drink between 80-100 oz of water a day as well. I dont eat out often so when I do I choose what I want and will often have a bite or two of desert. I do not consume alcohol so the only calories I drink are the protein shakes and occasional Starbucks Latte.
Hope this helps!!
