Confusion over soft foods

The only baby food I liked was the beef n broth puree, I would add a snippet of salt and it tasted just like I remembered a nice steak tasting. It was hard to find though, most places only stocked the chicken.. both had high protein though which is why I tried them in the first place.

Yes, I had my VSG on December 6th.  I was 238lbs the morning of surgery... on friday I had a 12lb gain and was 250lbs. This morning I was 223.2lbs.
I lost alot before surgery following the surgeons plan and staying committed to it.

I had my 4-week appointment yesterday and met with the nut in my surgeon's office...I was on mushy/purees up until now.. so, her definition of "soft foods" is "SOFT & MOIST" - that is what I am supposed to remember most importantly. They also want me to stop getting protein from liquids whi*****ludes my beloved protein shakes!! I told her I didn't think I was capable of getting in 60-80g of protein thru food alone, and both she and the PA told me to "trust my sleeve" - ?????

To define "soft foods" further, she told me it is now time to put away my blender and food processor...

Here is a direct quote from what their paper says "During this phase of the diet, you will begin eating non-pureed soft foods. You may continue to incorporate pureed foods, if you desire. (altho then she told me to get rid of the blender)...All of the foods you eat must be mushy and moist. You will need to avoid fresh fruits and vegetables. Examples of foods to try in this phase include: cottage cheese, tuna fish salad, scrambled eggs, baked fish, oatmeal, cream of wheat, cooked vegetables (she told me like canned green beans and carrots, but def. no corn!), canned fruits, mashed potatoes, pudding, soft cheeses (low-fat feta), etc."

She also said to use low-fat and fat-free anytime I could like with mayo, etc. But I definitely want to concentrate on protein, and forget the carby options on that list...I am to be on this thru Day 36. Then its one more stage before my 6-week mark...

Hope this helps!
