Don't feel like eating

Hey guys, today is officially 3 weeks since surgery.  I have been allowed purees since last Thursday, and I have tried FF refried beans with cheese, pureed soups, and yesterday some tuna with cottage cheese. I'm finding that though I am tolerating everything well, I'd rather just stay on liquids.  I'm having such a hard time getting all my liquids and protein in that by the time I even think to try to "eat" something, it's late in the day and I just don't feel like it's worth it.  Plus, pureed foods/meats look and feel disgusting and unappetizing.  Never in my life did I think I wouldn't want to eat.  I'm hoping this gets better when I move on to soft foods because at least it will look like real food.  Any suggestions are welcome.

My favorite thing to "eat" while on purees was Campbell's Bean Soup and Fiesta cheese Soup mixed together, blended, thinned and warm. The Fiesta cheese soup gave it just a little kick. Mmmmm.... might be eatng that again while I deal with this head cold.

I know you know this already, but it's temporary. Once you start a regular diet, it will be easier to find things you like.

I'm 2 months out and still never feel hungry. So, be prepared to have to just eat even if you aren't hungry.

IMO, water/fluids are most important.

I almost never felt like eating for the first few months. It does get better, I swear. As far as puréed food goes its pretty gross looking most of the time but still important to try to get a few bites in. Try some of the eggface recipes for puréed food. The baked ricotta is really awesome, I still make it on a pretty regular basis. It's like lasagna filling... Mmm!

Hi, we are in the same spot. I was sleeved 3 weeks ago today and I also am in the puree stage... I have tried Greek yogurt mixed with ff milk, Torani sf raspberry syrup and about 1 T. sf cheesecake pudding mix; 3 meatballs mixed with parm cheese and marinara sauce (blended until it looked like dog food, but it did taste delicious!); crockpot chicken mixed with low-sodium broth and bbcue sauce, and even some chili soups... I can only eat about 1/4-1/2 cup of whatever I am eating and my stomach growls as if its hungry within an hour!! I also hate it!! I am still drinking one protein drink a day, but this stage is really hard b/c I honestly don't want to go to the effort to puree the food, figure out the calories, and while it tastes ok, I also don't really want it... and, I am counting the days until I can eat baked fish (Dec. 30 to be exact)...and, this is practically a full-time job isn't it?!! Trying to get in the fluids, but not 15 min. or until 60 min. later after a "meal" - yikes!!

I guess just hang in there b/c I totally understand! It has to get better, right?? Let's just keep saying "we can do this!!" LOL

Hey ditto, you are a lot more adventurous than I am about trying new things!!   I think what I'll do is try one pureed thing a day and see how it works out.  I'm not sure if I'll ever get on board with the pureed meat...but we'll see!!  I think I will do much better with soft foods!
