Should I cut my hair??

I am just starting to be concerned about hair loss.  My hair was always the one thing I had going for me...I'm concerned about losing it.  I know it grows back and that I might be being a little dramatic, but I keep imagining that I'll have bald spot 6 months out and feel even worse about myself than I do now.   I thinking of cutting it in a cute short cut (kinda Halle Berry-ish) and hopefully people won't notice it as much when I start to lose it?  Anyone else do this??

Yes, I cut mine a lot shorter than on my avatar....it made it instantly look thicker....sort of like a bob with it tapered down and shaved in back...

I was super depressed about losing my hair, and it did get so thin, you could see my scalp in a lot of places....and with it longer, it just looked straggly and like I was sick.

I still don't like it so short, but I get many compliments now on how cute it is and you can't tell that I did it to hide the thinning.....but I do miss long hair.....oh well....it grows back!

I had the same fears, especially since I started with thin, straight, light-colored hair, completely unforgiving of thinning. I had it cut into a bob and have no regrets.

Its also funny, people who havent' seen me in a long time focus on the hair, probably because its the safe thing and the clearly obvious change.

One of my favorite responses to someone I hadn't seen since before the surgery who said 'you cut your hair, you look great!" was "yeah, makes me look like I lost about 80 lbs, doesn't it?"  ;)

It was a good friend, and we had a laugh about that once I let her in on the surgery.

My plan from the very beginning was to cut my hair off when it started coming out.  I had my surgery 9/29 last year and noticed the shedding mid-late December.  I ended up cutting it chin length in mid January and again in March.  It's now back to the length it was before I cut it.

I didn't have mine cut before surgery because I felt like I had enough changes going on. Now I wish I would have at least cut it to my shoulders.

My long hair is EVERYWHERE. Ugh.

Funny thing is, I still don't want to cut it.

Maybe when it starts growing back and I look like a poodle ( have curly hair) I'll get it cut.

I don't know.

Crap. I'm no help at all.

i really havent heard of anyone having bald patches unless they already had them..you are probably the only one who will notice your hair loss..

but that being said, i think its such a great idea to change up your hairstyle when you start losing..kind of like the whole 'transformation' thing.  i hate when people lose all this weight but keep the same old hairstyle!

change is good!!

I know...I'm probably over dramatizing it...
I agree with the transformation thing though...I'm thinking if I do cut it it will be a few months in...especially once my face starts getting smaller.  I want a completely new look for the new me!!
