Should I cut my hair??
I am just starting to be concerned about hair loss. My hair was always the one thing I had going for me...I'm concerned about losing it. I know it grows back and that I might be being a little dramatic, but I keep imagining that I'll have bald spot 6 months out and feel even worse about myself than I do now. I thinking of cutting it in a cute short cut (kinda Halle Berry-ish) and hopefully people won't notice it as much when I start to lose it? Anyone else do this??
I was super depressed about losing my hair, and it did get so thin, you could see my scalp in a lot of places....and with it longer, it just looked straggly and like I was sick.
I still don't like it so short, but I get many compliments now on how cute it is and you can't tell that I did it to hide the thinning.....but I do miss long hair.....oh well....it grows back!
Its also funny, people who havent' seen me in a long time focus on the hair, probably because its the safe thing and the clearly obvious change.
One of my favorite responses to someone I hadn't seen since before the surgery who said 'you cut your hair, you look great!" was "yeah, makes me look like I lost about 80 lbs, doesn't it?" ;)
It was a good friend, and we had a laugh about that once I let her in on the surgery.
My long hair is EVERYWHERE. Ugh.
Funny thing is, I still don't want to cut it.
Maybe when it starts growing back and I look like a poodle ( have curly hair) I'll get it cut.
I don't know.
Crap. I'm no help at all.
but that being said, i think its such a great idea to change up your hairstyle when you start losing..kind of like the whole 'transformation' thing. i hate when people lose all this weight but keep the same old hairstyle!
change is good!!
