OMG!! Who says meat has to be boring??!

I covet my Bon Appetit magazine, I scour places for old magazines to steal and wait patiently by my mailbox for the new issues delivered to my house..ok maybe that was a BIT dramatic..

Anyhow, I just made a recipe from one of the old issues: Lamb Tagine with Chickpeas and Apricots. This is a crazy flavorful, aromatic, exotic Morroccan recipe for simmered lamb.

The recipe calls for a Ras-el-hanout which is a spice blend you can make using coriander, cumin, crushed red pepper, cinnamon, paprika, cardamom, ginger, and tumeric. INSANE!!!!

I omitted the chickpeas because im not a fan and served it over cous cous for my family, it was delicious by itself for me.

I like to share stuff like this because I have been in a protein rut before, wondering if my life was doomed to be full of bland protein. Not So!!

Quick edit- here's the link http://www.bonappetit.com/recipes/2011/10/lamb-tagine-with-c hickpeas-and-apricots

In DC we have a great food truck scene and I love finding various ethnic trucks - wow the flavors can be so awesome and really change things up!  Your recipe sounds so tasty - even with the chick peas!

Nice!

Me wanna taste the "Erotic Party"

I have to say that those spices are very new to me and I'm having a great time discovering how to use them.....At first I really under estimated how powerful they are!
