I would ask him what HIS success statistics are for the VSG only, and how far out he has been tracking his patients.

I also think the question about who trained him in the VSG is a good one if he is new to it.
HW 263, 3lbs lost prior to surgery,  weight loss ticker is since surgery.

If you are not comfortable with him or his sleeve experience, check into Dr. Roslin, who is also in NY. He is well regarded by the DS crowd and is one of the few in the country genuinely qualified to do RNY to DS revisions, which reflects well on his skill levels. Being a comfortable and experienced DS surgeon (as well as the other major procedures) means that he also has well established VSG skills, since the VSG is an integral part of the DS.
