I had a lot of this trouble and milk of magnesia worked the best and I tried most things. If you are having a really bad time there is a liquid fleet enema in a single use squirt applicator that gives blessed relief and very fast.    Diane

My doc suggested Colace and Miralax.  He says that the Milk Of Mag combined with the Citrate w. Mag is really horrible for your heart.  Something about taking too much Mag causes an electrical disturbance in your heart.  Just an fyi

I'm going to vote for miralax and coffee. Miralax has no flavor, fiber once you are constipated can make it worse.

My son has a chronic constpation disorder and uses miralax with the occasional ex lax. And we also buy him coffee when its acting up!

I had the same issue. Tried everything, miralax, enema, colax - nothing worked! I ended up taking two small Dulcolax laxative pills. Worked great.

I went to the Ton of Bricks stage.  NOT GOOD.  Now taking colase for a while to keep things going.  Hopefully this is a short term problem for me but I'm planning to add something like mirilax as I progress.  I DO NOT want that to happen again.

I had the same problem 3 weeks out....Correctol/Exlax to start things off and Gummy Fiber.  After a couple of weeks of Gummy Fiber, I am back on track.  I think the constipation was worse than the pre op diet or the surgery itself.
