Well after the first few weeks on clear liquids and changing over to protein drinks the dreaded constipation ha**** me! Can I say I went from 1 thing to now another. So at the risk of sounding disgusting I am completely stopped up. I have been told to take Miralax, and ok I will, but I really would like to know if I can take something like Dulcolax or a laxative to make me go? Not sure if that is ok 3 weeks out? Please advise anyone who knows. Thanks.

Milk of magnesia to get things going again.  Then you're gonna have to find your own formula to keep things moving.  Fiber, stool softeners, magnesium, etc.  Everyone's different on what works best for them.

Dulcolax suppositories or Milk of Magnesia should get things moving again, then you need to keep them moving. Every one has differences in what they need to do - I'm pretty extreme because I had constipation issues even before going high protein/low carb.

Here's what I do to keep moving: a dose (2 pills) of store brand Colace in the morning. At least 10 grams of fiber supplement (I put the unflavored in shakes, there are also fiber gummies when you're on solids or flavored fiber stick packs). 500 mg of magnesium at bedtime every night.

Produces a result daily in the morning.

You could probably do one or two of these things and be fine.

Are you a coffee drinker? I've had the same issues. I was never a coffee drinker, but recently started adding it to my protein drinks in the am. First, it cuts the acky protein taste, second, it works miracles, and within an hour of even having 4 ounces, it sends me to the bathroom!

Hopes this works!

I've used Colon Pure (Unflavored) for years and you could set a clock by me. I used a tiny amount in my water the day I got home and it got me moving by the next day. I buy it a GNC. You have drink it fast after you put it in water or it turns to goo. I've tried a lot of differnt fibers and this one is the best imo. Little to no gas.

You're Sleeve is still pretty need so I would go with the less is more to start out.

Maybe start with the Milk of Magnesia first and use a fiber to keep things regular and be able to back off the MoM.

I hope you feel better.

You need greek yogurt and a probiotic or two per day which should keep you regular. I made sure to go while i was in the hospital. Besides, my mother wouldnt let me leave until I had my first one! It took two days of pushing, but it was a relieve to know that I could prevent a bowel obstruction from constipation.
