please tell me this will pass
it's always the head hunger that gets us. when we've been addicted and obsessed with food for so long, it's no wonder we feel like giving in when we think that "we no longer can have this kind of food". i'm 13 days post op, 5 weeks on liquids (3 pre op and 2 post op) and can finally say that i'm not obsessing all the time about food. i'm more trying to concentrate on getting enough fluids and all my meds in each day. then there's no time to think about the food!
you'll do fine. the surgery is such an amazing tool and if you can get your head in the right spot it'll make it even easier. i did go through a "mourning" period of missing what i got from food, but i know this is so worth it so it's easier for me to get past those thoughts.
good luck!

Most of us got this way because we are addicted to food. The thing to remember is we are never going to be not addicted to food, but sometimes we may fall off te wagon. The important thing is to get back on the wagon asap. Don't let your self spiral out of control. This tool is awesome and you will be surprised at how your head will want food but when you put the food or shake in your mouth that you can have you won't want it and certainly won't be able to eat much. Your tastes can change after this surgery. I no longer crave sweets, prefer the salty and although I like potato chips I have all bran crackers or saltines instead. I can only eat like two, but the crunchy salty satisfies me. Your going to get full really fast, just a few bites. You can find things that will be healthy that you like and that are satisfying to you. I try to replace things that I liked that were not as healthy with a healthy food that I like equally. Also try therapy and support groups after your surgery as they will help too, you vhae to find new coping skills for stress etc... We can't use food anymore, must find ohter methods to cope with things, say bye bye food and what else can I do to cope other than eat. Good luck to you and don't give up on yourself!
