a little scared with this medication

for my migraine that I have today, it is my regular migraine medication that I told was ok to take when needed. This is my first one and think auntie flo is coming for a visit. I am carrying my phone with me everywhere I go until the side effects settle down.
It is imitrex and I have a dr appt in an hour for my note so I can go back to work next week. I didn't want to look deathly ill going in to see the dr since I feel great otherwise and want to go back to work. I will just let him know I just took a pill if he starts to wonder if I am ok, it is going to jack my blood pressure up and make my heart feel like it is popping out of my chest but rather the side effects as long as they stay the same then a full force migraine.

Just hope auntie doesn't slow down my weight loss but it always takes a big jump down when done.

I use the Imitrex auto-injector, so every time I use it- it feels like someone is strangling me around the neck, jaw pain, jitters.. I have to be lying down to take it too, until the rush goes away.. one time I was in the bathroom at work giving myself a shot.. ick. I hate it. That and it only works about 50% of the time. My dr suggested I pop 2-3 Ibuprofen with it as the combo has been shown to work better than just the shot alone. Thankfully, no migraines recently.. Good luck & feel better!!

I am terrified of needles so the pill form works most times for me if I catch it early enough, which I think I did. within an hour my migraine is usually gone but the heavy chest feeling hangs on for a bit and the thick tongue when trying to talk lol.

I heard the nasal spray works almost instantly but not sure, haven't tried that either. I only have to lay down if I feel like I am going to vomit from the pain. My life has been so much fun suffering from migraine for many many years.

Imitrex also comes in a nasal spray. I just got a prescription so I am ready post op (surgery 10/24). Was told that the pills are OK post op but didnt want to take a chance.

Yeah my suegeon told me it was ok to take them, I have thirty tablets might request the nasal spray next time to try it. I survived taking the pill and migraine is gone. It is the only thing that will work, I have tried different types with no luck. I have to get rid of the migraine fast our I start to vomit.
