Women's underwear size?

This is ball park, but, underwear is about half the size of dress/pants sizing. So, if you wear size 20, underwear would be size 10. Or size 10 pants/dress would be size 5 underwear. Kind of.... It's crazy the way they size undies.

I hate to admit this, but I still wear big girl undies!  My only ones are LB hipster panties that are 22/24 and 18/20.  I wear a size 8 in bottoms!  Granted, I normally wear them with a tank top around the house and under some jeans...but normally I wear compression type things or am in running shorts with built in briefs.   I have just had no real desire to invest in new ones yet.

Measure yourself every few weeks (there's a place on this site--My OH--where you can keep track) and go by your hip/waist measurement. Usually the sizing on printed on the back of the package.

Thinking way back to when I wore Misses size 14-16, I wore size 7 underpants.

If it helps, I just bought new underwear yesterday in a size 9. I am wearing a size 20 pants, I weigh 253. I don't have hardly any hips though. I would say that you could probably wear a  size 7.

I've been wearing Costco compression style for years. They come in small, medium, large, extra large, and extra extra large. I've had to cut thru the elastic on the legs of the 2XL size for several years now. Looking forward to not needing to do that!!!

I've been fat, and I've been thin - and thin is better.

Underwear sizes generally do not change as quickly as pants sizes and therefore don't correlate well to pants sizes, so personally, I think that isn't a very good way to try to figure out underwear size. I wore size 8 underwear through three to four different pants sizes!

While your body is changing so quickly, and you are figuring things out, I would recommend starting with the packaged kind that has hip measurements on the package. That will at least give you a good idea of what size you should be looking at.

Some of the sizing depends on the style you buy.  Briefs are likely going to be looser (and therefore you might take a smaller size) than a bikini style, for example.  (I wear size 10 or 12 pants/jeans, and I wear a size 6 ****asionally a 7) in a hip-hugger or a high cut thigh panty style, but need a 7 to be comfortable in a bikini cut.)
