Question regarding swelling

I am 4 weeks and 4 days post surgery.  I was wondering how long it takes for the swelling to go down around your new tiny tummy?

I think I am about a week or so behind on the healing process due to having an infection on day 4 post op.  Could this affect my tummy swelling?

I respect and appreciate all the VSG veterns, that is why I am posing this question here.

I do have a follow up appointment with my surgeon on Sept 6.  Just wanted to know before hand.

Thanks for your help.

Sheila

sheila-

do you mean internally you think your stomach is still swollen? Is it uncomfortable to eat? Or do you mean the actual incisions?

Hi Sassy,

I was thinking more on the inside.  The outside incisions are almost completely healed.

yes it does get very uncomfortable when I eat.  I can only eat about at the most 2 tablespoon fulls.  Then I feel like I have eaten a whole turkey meal.  That is why I was wondering if my tummy was still a bit swollen.

its only been a month so its pretty safe to say you are still swollen internally, some say it takes a few months for the swelling to go down..

if it makes you feel any better alot of us cannot eat more than a tablespoon or  2 at a time for the first few months

Thanks Sassy,

I do feel better.  I knew someone on here would be able to answer my question.

BTW, you are looking AWESOME!!!!!  Congrats on reaching your goal.  Do you plan on losing more than your goal or are you going to allow your body to settle on the weight it wants to be?
