Does not getting in your protein make your wl slow down?

I just started nursing school and have been very busy, so I have not gotten all my protein in the last couple weeks. My loss last week was 1 1/2 lbs and 1 lb this week. I haven't been eating much at all but have not been on the protein that much either. Just wondering if not getting in my protein is why I am slowing down the last couple weeks.

Prior to that last two weeks, I was sailing along at 3lbs a week pretty consistently. I guess it could be the stress too.

Please let me know your experience when you get off track with the protein intake.

Thanks!

I don't think that the amount of protein you take in matters in weight loss, but the important thing is that it is BAD for your health. You have to have protein for proper muscle function. If you don't have enough, you will start to lose muscle mass. Not good news! Also, there are numerous other problems that come with lack of protein. You have to make that a priority!

Hiii Crissy,....

"With my experience"...Protein played a BIG part!!...When I upped my protein consumption. My loses were much higher. When I didn't get a lot in. I would stay the same or petite losses. Still today, when I up my protein, down goes the scale.

Hey girlfriend!

Thanks so much for the post! I thought people had said that but I couldn't remember for sure. I am going to track again. How much do you try to get in? My doc says 70 grams. Is that about what works best for you?

Thanks again Donna!

Truthfully, I aim for 100 grams a day...But, remember, I am 3 years out!...I get 30 just from a protein drink...Then 70 with real dense protein. Beef, pork, chick, fish, and eggs. It doesn't take long when you eat good quality protein.

Wow! 100 grams. I guess when I am 3 years out maybe. Now it seems impossible without tons of shakes! He He
