well i got a call today from my surgeons nurse and she said i was covered but only if i have something wrong with me like type 2 diabetes, sleep aphenia and some of the other stuff on the list...well i know im not diabetic but dont know about the other stuff... so i guess its time for me to see if i have any of the stuff and if i do then i have to do a 6 month diet.....i was really hoping i would not have to go through this....i wish they woulda told me this info when they made my appointment that i ended up cancling today now i want it back and they wont answer the phone... i did leave a message so maybe i will hear something tomorrow.....just updated on the journey that i so much want to take

Hmm....  Is your BMI greater then 40?  If so, must insurance providers only need that to cover you.  Now if your BMI is below 40 to 35, then you would need 1 more serious health condition to qualify.   If your BMI is over 40, you may want to revisit that again.

thank you ...ima call the insurance company bc my bmi is 46 or 47.....i didnt think it seemed right from what i read in my insurance book

Have you had labs or an ultrasound done to check your liver? Not sure if the insurance company would consider NAFLD or NASH comorbidities for coverage but its worth a try. The ultrasound is more reliable than the labs. Sometimes my liver values were normal and sometimes they were really really elevated, but the ultrasound showed fatty infiltration in my liver. With all wls, my hospital does a liver biopsy. The Dr said mine was the worst he has ever seen in someone my age, and I was soo extremely close to having irreversible damage. Scary stuff!
