Anyone have Gastroparesis? Slow moving tummy?

OK I still cannot get in all my liquids and protein and its day 18

Its so bad in evening that I just sit there unable to put even a drop of water in my tummy. Most nights last ALL NIGHT LONG..so uncomfortable I cannot sleep.

Surgeon saw me today and says its NOT GERD but probably the same condition I had before surgery. Had the stomach emptying test and it was ok. With MS its not uncommon to have this. I wonder if sometimes I have Gastroparesis and not all the time.

How can I move on to pureed or ANY foods if I cannot get in all my protein/fluids now?

Thanks, Jan

Jan, I have a big glass of orange juice in the morning with Unjury unflavored protein powder (three heaping tablespoons). Then at lunch I have chicken broth with more unflavored, or water with the chicken flavored (again, three heaping tbsps). Then I have a glass of milk with the chocolate falvored Unjury (three tbsps, also). Those drinks go a long way to getting in my liquids and protein. I hope that helps...  :)

Sometimes it takes a little longer for some sleevers than for others.  I left the hospital with a few sleevers and we all had totally different experience.  I was surprised that a lady that was doing so well was unable to go into the puree stage until a week after me.  Stay in contact with your surgeons office and try and sip liquids and your protein throughout the day as much as possible.

Good luck,

Santos
