question re fullness
An egg over 20 mins doesn't sound to me like you're eating too fast. However, I was not able to eat an entire egg until about 4 weeks out. But if you doctor allows it and you tolerate it who is anyone else to tell you shouldn't eat it? Who knows, maybe American plans are unnecessarily conservative. I was on clear liquids one day, full liquids 1 week, soft foods for 3 weeks, then anything that I can tolerate.
The pressure you say you feel after just one or two bites could be due to swelling. Surely you're not getting full after 2 bites? The first couple of weeks for me I had pain every time I swallowed (even liquid). I think it was a combination of heartburn and swelling. It felt like it would sit in my chest (painfully) for a few seconds then finally gurgle on down. After taking a PPI for a couple of weeks I didn't have that feeling anymore.
As far as feeling full, it's not ever like it was before. I've heard so many different definitions of a full feeling that I believe it is different for everyone.
Your doctor sounds amazing. He calls you himself to check on you? That's great. I would just ask him these things and see what he says. But I would just measure/weigh your food for now until you have a handle on what full feels like for you.
