question re fullness
On another note I found myself thinking how nice a piece of chocolate would be today:( Guess they didn't operate on my brain! I can see that I am going to need to be very vigilant in changing my habits here because I have no doubt that melted chocolate would go down just fine!
A cooked egg not blended is not a puree......
Here is a situation that just gives me shivers..........
I used to preach.... follow your surgeons plan.....
I don't give a dang what your surgeons plan is....it would be in your best interest to keep it to liquids for 2 weeks !!!! Than move to purees
Danger signs written all over your post.......
Eating an egg and trying to find full 5 days out just doesn't sound right......!!!!
Heal up up first.....!!!!

Please take some time to work on the psychological part of this. You mention about chocolate and thinking about how it would go down melted. Not a good idea... don't even allow yourself to think about it. Hard, I know. At 8 weeks out, I've not gone near chocolate at all since surgery.
I have to agree with Frisco's suggestion for you to stay on liquids for 2 weeks. Your sleeve is so new and so vulnerable right now. Why risk it?
Good luck.

Don't worry my egg was paste and I may be thinking about chocolate but I am certainly not going to sabotage myself by starting on that path! I am just becoming aware of my own thought processes as I go.
That pressure feeling is your new full sign. I usually stop there and then have another small meal in two hours or so. The nervs in your stomach are cut and until they are healed you won't feel the restriction as much.
I was able to tolerate all fluids early on,full and clears and had no trouble moving on the the next stages. I still have no trouble and I woul;d count myself lucky not to have any trouble it I was you.
Does your plan give you a measured amount that you should be eating at each stage? If so,mesuring will help you to keep from overeating till your nerves heal.

Totally cool........you have a point.....
What I want is to see people do well and not hurt themselves......
Do you know that your post totally contradicts itself and has flaws????
- Pressure.....that's what you don't want when your healing.
- Cut nerves in your staple line can mask pain. (as well as the pain meds)
- Your telling her to measure .....so she dosn't over do it.....that's all I'm sayin....

Pressure that is why I suggested measuring so she doesn't get to that point.
ccut nerves in the stomach can mask pain, restriction, what ever you want to call it.
Everyone wants everyone else on this journey to do well and not hurt themselves. Just because everyone's plan is not just like yours doesn't mean they are not valid ,safe and worthy plans.
I think you give excellent advice many times, but I do think you do others a disservice by always insisting that your plan is the only one guaranteed to bring success.
That's all I'm sayin....
Unless your surgeon is using some new cut/staple technologies...... your staple line is as strong/fragile as everybody elses......
Here is the problem.....everything is fine while your pyloric valve is open....you have flow for liquids through your sleeve while your pyloric valve is open......
As soon as you eat something that makes your pyloric valve close..... that's when whatever you ingest stays in your sleeve for pre-digestion..... that's when you can build up pressure (feeling full is pressure) in your sleeve and tax your un-healed staple line.
Yah see...everyone is different.....your pastey egg may not be closing your pyloric...which is a good thing for now and you not getting full says that it's probably not.....
For me.... at about 6 weeks out....starting soft foods......scrambled egg (1/2) was enough for me to feel some un-comfort.
I guess do what your gonna do.....but regardless on how much you spent on your surgery....your instructions don't sound very good......
I just don't want you to hurt yourself.... I could just shut-up and think...."What ever...Good Luck with that"
