Anyone know of a descent chewable iron pill?

I could not find one so I bought the liquid and UKKKKKK! Talk about nasty! I squirt it down my throat and still can taste it. Yuck!! Today I did a grape juice chaser and it's a little better but I really dread taking the stuff.

I don't know if the chewable ones are any better. I would like to find one I can do without totally grossing out.

If so, where can I buy it at? Hopefully a national store.

Thanks,

On my way!!!!!!

I went online to vitamin shoppe.com  I haven't gotten them yet, so can't say if they are good.  I'll let you know though :)

I've been using these too- they are like a little daily treat- so good!  They are really chewy and so that little bite is a pretty satisfying little bit of sweetness.  :)

I've been super lucky to NOT have to add additional iron supplemented apart from what my multivitamin offers. I hope someone can help you out. I really love the Celebrate Multi complete that already has iron in it. I'm even allowed to stay on it in my pregnancy, and my labs have remained stellar.

Have you tried taking an iron pill?  I was taking pills (levoxyl-thyroid) the day after surgery.

I take the Celebrate Iron +C, grape flavored and it's very good.  Runs about $15.00 a month.

My doc says I should take the chewable form. I have learned that some pills don't break down so well, so the chewable form helps it break down. So, if the doc says chewable, that's what I try to do. I figured liquid would probably be as good for me. I had no idea it would taste so gross though!! Ha Ha.

I am kind of cheap sometimes, so I guess I will finish this up with a chaser each time and then try a new one next time. I was kind of hoping to just be able to get something local.

Do you all order lots of viatamins on line? I have not yet, maybe I need to?

Thanks for the input!

I order mine from Celebrate vitamins. You can actually request a free sample pack of their stuff.

For me, the cost is worth it.

You can also check out vitacost.com for chewable vitamins. I can comment on taste/texture, but read through the reviews. The liquid calcium citrate SUCKS, I tried 3-4 different brands/flavors before they all got tossed in the trash. BUT, I do order my organic ground flax seed from vitacost, my son's DHA and Omega 3s. You can also find beauty products, protein powders etc on there, plus they have awesome sales and flat rate shipping regardless of how much you order.

Use this link to order celebrate Sample pack, it's 100% free.

I have my regimen down to 4 chewables per day instead of 8 by using Celebrate Multi Complete and their Calcium Citrate Plus 500.

Just tell you had VSG, and they'll hook you up. I don't have to supplement extra iron, was never anemic or had any issues with iron. So, I have just stuck the iron that comes in the complete multivitamin.
