IV fluids, how to get rid of them...

I was pumped so full of IV fluids I gained about 5 pounds while in the hospital.  Do they go away on their own or do I need to do something to help get rid of the fluids?  I have been peeing, drinking, walking and resting, don't know much more to do other than that.

I got home yesterday, first thing I did was sleep in my own bed.  Felt so good compared to the hospital bed.

Thanks for all the support.

More later...

They will go away on their own...and you may even miss them.  It is hard to get in all the fluids that you need to drink each day.  Don't worry, you'll be pleasanly surprised on your next weigh in!  Good luck!

Just wait it out. And keep drinking .

Im jealous you could sleep! After the miserable hospital bed and no sleep in the hospital, all I wanted to do was sleep in my bed but I couldnt. I had to lay in a recliner and didnt sleep for a couple days.

Continue to drink as much as you possibly can. It will help flush out all the fluids. Moving (taking short walks) will help move everything around too. It just takes time. Remember, you just had major surgery !!!

The fluid weight will be gone in a week or so. Keep sipping, walking, and resting !!!
