Dumping
IF I eat something that is to sweet or has a high sugar content, (which is something I don't do as a rule but get a sweet tooth like everyone else once in awhile) I start to feel icky then it puts me to sleep! So I am thinking that is whats happening. As a rule though I don't like to eat sweets even with the urge but I do give in now and then, then regret it.
No one should feel bad about it, everyone likes something sweeet. My surgery is 9-8-11 so not experienced it yet, but daughter and hubby had a few months ago and both have experienced it. I do think that it also had to do with eating or drinking it too fast. I think I will try putting low cal low fat fudge bars, you can melt a little at a time and I really like them so will also be a treat, but I was also told that for PMS sweets tooth try melting little pieces of a little tiny hershey bar, but only one and only small pieces at a time. Keep on keepin on!

Your dumping might get better. You're still healing. Some foods that I dumped with during the first month, I can eat now. I never thought I would have dumping, but I do. I cannot eat fried food or anything remotely greasy and certain sweets make me sick. I've thrown up a couple times from it and been forced to nap on multiple occasions. I also found out that if I eat a little slower, it helps. And alcohol can no longer be a part of my life as it too, makes me feel horrible.
Good luck, it's still worth it. =+)

Yes....our stomachs empty faster, especially liquids. A milkshake is a classic example of what could make you dump even many years out. It is sweet, it is fatty and it is liquid. The sugar emptying into your system is what causes the symptoms. Too much, too fast. Dumping may be the same thing as Reactive Hypoglycemia since they have the same symptoms. Sleeve pts usually have milder symptoms caused by the same actions.
