help
I have been on this liquid diet for almost 4 weeks as of wednesday. Well last night I had a very weak 20 minutes and ate 2 pop tarts 1 lg fried chicken strip, and a pack of whole wheat peanut butter crackers (6). Have i sabotaged my whole 4 weeks of shrinking my liver, and If I did what do I do? My surgery is early wednesday morning!!!! Please help!!!
What's done is done. I would go back to following you liquid diet to a T immediately. I can't imagine that you've done so much damage that you can't have surgery. Just get back on track and use the next several days leading up to surgery to follow doctor's orders.
(note: some people don't even have to follow a diet preceding surgery. Every surgeon's plan is different.)

Over the course of your diet, you have one bad day in 30, which is pretty good. Feel good about that.
However, it's important you maintain your low-card, liquid diet until surgery. Your liver will definitely have expanded somewhat; all those carbs you ate will be catalyzed into glycogen and stored in your liver swelling it a bit. The good news is that a human has very roughly a two-day max storage capability for glycogen until it's depleted again on a low-carb diet. So, don't mess up between now and Wendesday!
