I never had any fluid restriction, but still have tons of restriction with food. My doctor said not to worry about the lack of restriction with fluids.

Cool! We actually have the same doc too. Ha Ha. It was published in the post-op guide thing.

It sounds like I don't need to worry about it though. Yeah!!

Thanks so much for the post!!!

I didn't understand that part of the instructions at all, and I couldn't drink that much early out anyway, so I just drank what I could for the first few weeks (about 40 oz on my best day).  I'm six months out now and I can drink normally.  I can't really do more than 3 or 4 swallows in a row because then I'm full, but I can wait a minute and drink again.

I still have great restriction.  I do not believe you can "stretch" a sleeve with liquids--liquids are compressable and just trickle through.

Thanks so much for your reply.

I actually can get all my fluids in now without any problem. At first it was hard to drink much, now I pretty much drink like I did pre-op. I only drink like 4oz in 15 minutes but since that's twice what he said to do, I was a little worried.

I am glad to hear that you have great restriction and you don't think I could stretch my sleeve with liquids. It sounds like it's going to be fine.

Thanks everyone!!

I take in a protein shake with two cups skim milk. that accounts for 54 grams of protein. Hope this helps.
