Victory! Hitting "goal" and for newbies, how to pick a number...
I spent the day with my best friend, relishing the success and having a girls pool day..In 6 and a half months I have gone from 250lbs to 159.9 from a size 20 to a size 10 and a waist size of 40 to 27...I truly am thrilled with my decision to do this..
I would like to lose another 10 lbs so I am just going to let my body do whatever it will do, if I lose a few more I will be happy and if I dont, eh, whatevs!
I see alot of newbies asking "how do I pick a goal"? For me it was a multi-factoral approach. I took into account my lean body mass (the weight of my skeleton, skin, and muscles which was 134 lbs at surgery, its since gone down to 120 so I can stand to lose a bit more), a number I thought I could realistically reach, and the weight I was as an adult before I gained weight..for me a number like 125lbs was not realistic, I have a larger frame, and a higher lean body mass...
talk with your doc if you are going to pick a "goal", some doctor's dont like to have a set humber..Remember that each person is an individual and we all have different builds..Do what is best for you!
*And most importantly, dont be so fixated on the numbers that you obsess and sabotage yourself. If I never got on the scale I would still know I like the way my body feels and that is what is important..
Thanks for staying tuned..more to come I am sure!
