10 days post op- laid on my tummy, would that be bad?

I didn't think about it. I was at the pool laying out and just turned over for like 10 minutes on to my tummy. After a like 10 minutes, I was like oh man, maybe this could smash my new stich lines. Anyone else do this kind of early or have their doc say something either way.

I feel fine and did then too, but I am just worried since my doc is so far away I don't have anyway to know if I did any harm.

Anyone with advise, please post.

Thanks,

On my way!!!!!!

10 days out is probably about when I could stand to lay on my side.  For a little while.  In a little pain :).

I think at this point it's whatever you can do without causing pain, other than lifting....but I'm not a doc

I have laid on my tummy plenty and hasn't hurt me at all. Surgeon says my sutures have healed just fine.

When did you have your surgery? Sometimes I get the impression it's been years but it looks like your profile says it was recently to me?

How soon out did you lay on your tummy for the 1st time? I am sure I am fine but would feel better if others did it early on and were fine.

Thanks so much!

By the way, I am originally from Lincoln too!!!

I was sleeved on 6/10. I could pretty much lay on mine from the getgo without any discomfort. I could sleep as I normally did from the first night after surgery. Hope this helps and hope you enjoyed your time in Lincoln.

Oh okay. So was that 6 of '10 or 6/10/2011? Somewhere I thought you had said one time on here that you lost like 100 lbs, so I guess I am confused.

I was wondering if you cut and paste other peoples posts in to yours or something, to explain or quote someone else. In one place it looked like you said something about the 2nd best thing you have ever done was marrying your husband. I just assumed you are a male since your avatar's male. I am just confused.

You post on here a lot, and I enjoy your input but sometimes I get confused on where you are at. Sometimes I think you are a month out and sometimes I think you are a year out. Just curious.

Thanks so much for your posting though. It really helped calm my mind!

Mine was 6/10/11. It is underneath my avatar (kinda dorky huh but the best I could do). Yes if I see a particularly good post I cut and paste it to a word document and use for later reference. I try to identify these as posts from veterans. If I was not clear on that a thousand pardons. Definitely still a newbie compared to a lot of folks and only one month out. thanks for the feedback.

Congrats!  I am 6 days post-op and still can't lie on my side without pain.  I am a side sleeper so this is truly annoying.  Hope you get a good answer!

Never thought about sleeping after surgery. I would guess on your back is the most comfortable? I am a side sleeper but can handle sleeping on my back. I am sure eventually I will be back to side sleeping! Hope all is well with your stitches...
