Congrats on the weight loss, Pop Pop.. I just had surgery two weeks ago.. I loved reading your post and knowing that I made the right decision with the VSG..
I have been lucky to have met some wonderful people and support here on the OH forum and at my support group at the hospital I had my surgery done.
Thank you for the great advise in your post.

" I drank a double-scoop protein shake w/ 8 oz. of 1% milk every single day for breakfast for six months post-op. It provided the major a.m. protein boost (48 g) that I needed and it meant I had no food decisions to make in the morning. I now do single shakes 4/5 days per week for breakfast. (Newbies, disregard anyone who says "the body can't use that much protein at one time" The double protein shake regimen worked for my friend (145 lbs. lost last year) and it's worked for me - my dietitian loves the idea)."
I have been doing this since I've been able to handle this much liquid. I believed, immediately, that my 52G of protein in the morning would set my day off in the right direction. I've had NO problems thus far. It also takes away my concern about getting enough protein throughout the day.
I'm waiting for clearance to go back to the gym, but I am walking daily, even if its only for 15-20 minutes (which is my current fatigue thresh hold). I'm a swimmer, so I can't wait to be given the OK to go back that. I was a gym rat before but I ate like a fool. The sleeve is what I need to make my gym efforts matter.
Thank you for your inspiration!!
