I was sleeved on 6/22 so still on the clear liquid phase.

I am not allowed yogurt, cream soups and things like that.

I've been rotating
diet poweraid (no sugar)
water
crystal lite (although I'm sick of the sweets)
various soups- chicken noodle, beef broth, french onion, all strained
and of course my protein shakes which I'm so sick of I could scream
I can also have SF popsicles and SF Jello but I'm so sick of this sweet taste so I'm not really into them.

I keep thinking about a cream based soup, mashed potatoes, yogurt, all of which I think I'll be allowed to have on Tues

Hang in there and just drink drink drink

I MOSTLY have soups. I usually use store bought chicken or beef stock. Sometimes I add a little soy sauce. I also ad a few shakes of ms. Dash or lemon pepper (the garlic and onion gives it some texture. And I add unflavored protein. Trader joes has a soy protein powder (its a little pasty, but it thickens the broth). I also like the unjury unflavored. I also recently found a pureed lentil soup, a pureed black bean (both at trader joes), and v8 makes some purees that you can find at the regular grocery store.

Here in NS we are to try 2-3 weeks liquids to basically learn as well as for weightloss, then do 1 week liquids before surgery.

So on my trial liquid diet i did use cream soups as well as chicken broth with unflavored protein powder. In using shakes I never used the full scoop and spead my protein out the whole day so my sugars would remain even as well as keeping me full and satisfied.

here is a sample of what I had for a full day.

6am 16oz water (to be able to get my synthroid in before any food and a start on my water)

8am 1/3cup premium protein drink mixed with 4oz skim milk and 2 tsp benefiber

9am 8oz water

10am 100g source yogert thinned with 4 oz skim milk

11am 8oz water

Noon 1/4 cup cottage cheese blended with 8oz skim milk and 10oz kaizen vanilla icecream flavored protein powder

1pm 8oz water

2pm 8oz skim milk

3pm 8oz water

4pm 1 cup sugar free jello

5pm 100g soruce yogert blended with 8oz skim milk, 10g kaizen protein powder & 2 tsp benefiber

6pm 1 cup of soup (be it cream of tomato made with skim milk or cream of chicken (pureed/strained) made with skim milk or 3/4 cup habitant soup & 1.4 c water (pureed/strained) or1 cup fish chowder (pureed/strained)  or chicken broth with 2 tsp unflavored protein powder)

Hello,
I was very very over protected with my sleeve when I first had the sleeve.
I made sure i was only on clear liquids.  that mean anything I can see through.

I lived off of water, isopure, chicken broth and sugar free popcicles.

The sleeve was not how much or what I could eat.  My concern was getting in the protein so
that is why i lived off isopure rather than chicken broth unless it had chicken flavored
unjury in it.    we have a job to do and that is to get all water and protein in.

On the 9th day post op was the first day I was able to get all my protein in.

The sleeve is something we can train.  if we struggle with intake with something, we
work at it and it can happen.

the 3rd week is when I added the protein shakes in.  this is considered not clear.
I drank the same thing but just started protein shakes.   This is when I became constipated.

These were my surgeons guidelines and my journey.  All surgeons have different plans for
their patients.  It doesnt make it right or wrong...  Just different.
