Don't worry - first couple days are very rough. Your first concern should be staying hydrated. I found after the first week, protein shakes were much easier to tolerate.

I had protein shakes, broth, popsicles, jello/pudding and greek yogurt while on "full liquids"

I was too lazy to deal with the soups but I think i was allowed to have strained cream soups and anything like strained chicken noodle soup and stuff.

Hey im also 3 days out. I got some beef broth and added a scoop of unflavored protein powder after if cooled down to under 130 (i think thats the right degree were suppose to use). honestly thats the only way ive been able to stand my protein.  Good luck!   my nut said i could also have cream of broccoli as long as i didnt eat the big stalk parts that are in it. Good luck and keep me updated!

I am three days post op. I have been doing shakes and water just fine. I use the costco premier protein shakes and they taste great and are pretty filling. Today I had a small single serve apple sauce for breakfast to take pills, and for lunch I ate clear chicken broth. I just bought the broth in a container from the store. So far so good. Just go slow.

My liquid diet was for three weeks post-op and it was pretty good.

Here are some of the things I had.

1. Chicken, beef or fish broth. Both home made and restaurant bought. I ordered soup from a variety of restaurants. Most were more than happy to serve more broth.
2. Miso soup.
3. Won-ton soup (minus the Won-ton).
4. Crystal Light.
5. Sugar Free Jell-O
6. Muscle Milk Light ready to drink protein shake. I dilute the 8.5 oz. serving with 8 oz. of cold water. This thins out the shake and cuts the sweetness. Post-op it took me 30-45 minutes to sip, sip, sip the proein shake.
7. Greek yogurt shakes (Greek yogurt, fat free milk and some flavoring. Run it all through the blender till liquid).
8. Watered down Gatorade G2. The G2 has less carbs.
9. Cottage cheese with some Greek yogurt run through the blender.

Broths were very satisfying for me during this stage. I drank a lot of soup broths and the heat was very comforting and agreed with my sleeve.

Good luck,
George

The soups are worth the effort just to give you some flavor.  My very favorite was Cream of Broccoli diluted with Lactaid.  I also loved the taste of Split Pea w/Ham (strained).  My hubby brought home just about every "cream of " soup out there and it was nice to have a variety.  I could only handle a little less than the half cup that was measured out but just having some new flavors were worth it.  Anything that seems too thick, add a little NF Lactaid or water to thin out then pour it through a strainer or puree in a blender.
It was very hard for me to drink all of my protein those first few days, don't force it, just focus on your water and the protein will come.
Enjoy it!

Tomato soup was my favorite during this stage.  I was not allowed cottage cheese or yogurt or cream of wheat during this stage.  I tried cream soups and I couldn't stomach them the taste was just not good.  So I did water, crystal light (I got sick of it fast!) smar****er, g2, propel, broth, carnation instant breakfast with lactaid fat free milk.  I had a hard time with other protein shakes and this was more like drinking chocolate milk and was thinner and easier to swallow and stomach.  I did a lot of sugar free popsicles, sugar free jello, no sugar added fudgesicles.
