When it rains, it F*ing pours (kinda long)
Ok it's been 2 months since surgery and for the last month I have been throwing up after almost every meal, even protein shakes. I have been trying to keep record of what I can and can't eat (almost everything). So I finally go to my pcp 2 weeks ago have a upper gi and they find a small hernial and really bad gerd. Ok I ask her if I had a hernial why wasn't it fixed when I had the surgery???? But she didn't do the surgery, so I have to call the surgeon on Monday.
Then I wake up this morning in major pain on my right side, tried to walk it off and just go to work but no luck. Go to the ER and I have a kidney stone, yay... I did pass it this morning, but he tells me there are more in there.
So I have an appointment with a urologist and a gastrolist (I can't spell), Oh by the way just started a new job in Jan. I had already got approval to take off for the surgery now all this appointments and I had to take off today!!!
Ok pitty party over... thanks for reading.

It sounds like you have a hiatal hernia. I had one as a result of a band that I had put-on in 1998. But they corrected my hernia before doing my VSG in April. My VSG was supposed to take under 2 hours and I ended up in surgery for over 6 hours. Apparently my hernia had twisted itself around my esophagus and had even began attaching itself around other organs. I started having heartburn over years ago and ignored it. By January in could hardly keep anything down and by April (just before surgery) I was throwing up constantly. If I were you I would go back to a soft food diet or liquid diet just like the post-op diet. I was miserable but grateful that they did an esophageal scope prior to my VSG so they were able to correct all in one procedure. In fact, because the hernia was caused by the banding, it was a corrective procedure and my insurance covered it right a way. Good luck to you.
