So what are the permanent changes?

I am trying to get them all straight. So, no soda, no drinking while eating, any others?

I am having surgery in 2 weeks and want to be sure I remember all the long-term changes I have to make besides eating healthier of course.

Thanks so much!

Protein first.  Then if you have room, eat your fruit and veggies.

No feeling sorry for yourself the first months after surgery.

3-4 oz of food ONLY for your meal after you move on to mushies and then "real" food.

Wow, okay. 3-4 oz? That amount makes you full 'til another meal? It's hard to even imagine a 1/2 cup of food could make me full. Ha Ha

I will try not to feel sorry for myself either. Ha Ha

For me it was more like 2-3oz, still is! Believe it- it gets pretty uncomfy if you pu**** eat slooow especially at first!

My surgeon tells me no soda or any kind  of carb drinks. They make bottled water now that has carb in it. No drinking 30 minutes before a meal or 30 minutes after a meal. No kind of bad snack foods like chips or candy or sugar stuff.

Eat protein first it fills you up and last longer in your stomach. Eat slow chew a million times lol. Most of all exercise. You will do great.
My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

Sounds doable. I do love my chips though. I am hoping that after the surgery I won't like them as much. Ha Ha

No bread? No pasta? Ehh. I haven't heard that yet. My hubby just reminded me tonight about the beer thing too. I didn't even think about it having carbonation.

Well, everyone says it's worth it. I am sure it is, but that's a lot to give up forever.

Thanks for your post!
