Super Bottom Heavy Women?
Hi all!
I'm having my surgery on June 21 and I am very excited.
I'm curious about women who had the sleeve, have lost at least 80-100 lbs... and are/were super bottom heavy... how has that worked out for you?
I'm 360, but my weight is very heavily concentrated in my hips, thighs, and butt. I have "skinny" calves, no cankles, "normal" face, neck, forearms, etc. My measurements now are 42D-40-61. I'm 6'0.
Everytime I've lost weight, my upper body lost, my lower body stayed put.
I know that carrying weight lower is harder to lose. Will I look like even more of a freak? Will it be even more pronounced? Will everything else melt away first before the bottom even begins to make a dent?
Also, how is your bone structure working out? I've been carrying weight for 20 years. I am sure its affected how my bones are alligned.
So any insight would be helpful.

I have seen some "at goal" photos lately of gals that were very amply endowed, mostly in their lower hips. They looked fabulous and, in fact, were the best after photos I have seen on here. Don't worry, you will look apportioned correctly. And remember, you are doing this as much for your health as yourlooks. Good luck to you.
I was opposite as I was apple-shaped, but I can tell you lots of pear shaped women are able to lose their bottom heavy appearance. Specific, targeted exercise and work out routines will help tremendously. I lost from my butt, thighs, bust, and upper torso first, and my stomach was the last to go, and it's where I carry my weight.
I can also share that sleeping skinny was weird. It took time for my body to adjust, and I've shared on here that with my measly 10lb gain in the pregnancy, it's all in my stomach area, my hips ache chronically, and I have tons of trouble sleeping comfortably. It has been a struggle with the physical changes in pregnancy again after being at goal and below for over a year.
I slept more soundly, but trying to find that "just right" position being smaller was challenging.
Best wishes ! ! !

Being a member of the 'fat bottomed girl' tribe, I sometimes feel like I'm two different women that have been stuck together in the middle; however, I'm down 95lbs, and I'm starting to even out. I'm in a 16-18 on the bottom, now, and a 12-14 or so on the top. Size 16 tends to be the tipping point for me where I start losing my thighs.
At least you're tall. I'm short, and it's a pain in the ass trying to find clothes that fit because everything is so long on me. There just aren't that many 'petites' once you get over a size 14, and everything fits perfect down to the waist and then, BLAH!
Hope that helps...

150 lbs down still a size larger on bottom than I am on top. Have gone through periods in the last 9 months where it was two sizes or more different. My butt and thighs are definitely going to be the last thing to go. But I am pretty damn happy wiith my weight loss and while I hate the saggy skin I my thighs I will take it any day over being 325!
I always said I had junk in my trunk plus a carry on. I have a weird shape and always have. I'm very hour glassy...my waist is and always has been much smaller than my bubble butt and big chest and arms. I never really carried weight in my upper stomach...just lower in my belly area. Try finding jeans to fit the bubble butt and hips with the smaller waist...I could usually fit a picnic basket in the gap at the back of my jeans.
I started at 280 and after losing almost 90 pounds things are different. I was taking a 22 or 24 size jeans when I started the program. My bubble butt has shrank considerably and so has the rest of me. My arms were always very heavy as well and always the body part I hated the worst. My hips are much smaller and flatter. I have about 40 more pounds to lose and I'm guessing things will still improve. I am wearing a Medium top today and size 14 pants. Tomorrow is my 5 month Surgiversary and I'll post some pics.
Best of luck on your journey,
Heidi

Hi purplepeace,
You and I are very similar....although Im thick down to the ground. I started out at 347lbs and I am currently 228lbs. I am still losing and I can tell you that the most excellent result for your ultimate body shape is going to come from excersice....and alot of it. The rest is genetics. No matter where you lose your weight first, trust me your gonna like it. I started out on the treadmill doing 15 minutes and now Im in group fitness anywhere from 1-2 hours a day. It w o r k s.
Blessings on your new journey,
Jenny

We have very similar starting stats. Here's a snapshot of my measurements from my first 4 months (1st row night before surgery):
I was 18/20 on top and 26/28 when I had surgery. Right now, just shy of 5 months out, I'm a size L/XL top and 18/20 bottom. I initially noticed the first weight loss from my top half (hello cheek bones and collar bones!) and then it's been coming off the bottom half a lot more lately...which is good since that's where I need to lose the most! For the most part I've retained my shape, I've just become a smaller version of myself. But in another 4-6 months I'll be able to tell you for sure. I have never been a "normal" size as an adult so I honestly have no idea how I'm going to turn out.
Bust | Waist | Hips |
41 | 47.5 | 62 |
39.5 | 45.5 | 59 |
39 | 43.5 | 56 |
38 | 42.5 | 54.5 |
36.5 | 42.5 | 52 |
