Surgery 3/1 - down 57 lbs. Feeling pretty good - no trouble eating, still no hunger really. I stay away from breads, pastas & sweets but I haven't really cared for those things. It's been pretty much all meats and veggies for me. I don't count calories (dietician said I didn't need to), I don't log my food. I definitely need to up my exercise but I'm certainly doing more on that front than I did prior to the surgery. Past the first month and a half/two months where the mental aspect of things was killing me, it's gone pretty well, I'd say. Woke up to the scale reading 170 this morning and while I can't guarantee because I avoided the scale for so many years, I would figure this is less than I've been since early high school.

I do wish my bottom half would catch up to my top half though lol My upper body has gotten much smaller but waist down...notsomuch.

Also, by my estimation, I haven't encountered any legitimate stalls so far. I mean, I generally don't lose much during the week but Fri, Sat, Sun I'll drop 2-3 lbs. (Weird.) But so far no extended period of time with no loss..?? I've mentally prepared myself for it but it has yet to come. Who knows.

I feel like I'm able to eat much more than what most people here talk about. It was bothering me like crazy before but I'm still following my surgeons plan and I'm still losing so I guess it's nothing to worry about.

Foodlover,

I am down 37 lbs.  I was sleeved 10 days before you. Comparing yourself to others can be depressing!  Stop doing it!  It is fun to see how everyone else is doing but we are all different and will lose at different rates.  It is the end game that you should be looking at, not the pre-show!  Two pounds a week equals 108 lbs in a year.  That is how I'm looking at it. Don't become discouraged.  Just continue to follow doctor's directions and you'll be good.

I agree, my actual goal is 10 pounds a month until I get down to 220, then it will be 8 lb per month. As I (!!!!) get below 200, this time I'm not going to get discouraged by seeing losses of a pound or less per week, that's just how it works. Foodlover, maybe you are one of us that can do a little splurge maybe ONCE a week within reason to jack up your metabolism a little. But as Viola said, we are all different. As you progress in your physical therapy, you will be able to get in more activity as well. Hang in there :)

When I said not losing as fast as some, I'm talking about the people who do super low cal and low carb; they tend to drop a ton of weight in the first few months, but things even up later (I'm not talking about just WLS patients either) . I don't see the benefit in losing an extra 5 a month if I'm going to be lethargic, lose all my hair, etc the way some people I know have done. Those things would tend to make me feel worse, not better. Right now I've got great energy, sleep well, etc and if I get to goal three months ahead or behind someone else, so what? It's not a race.

I would be happy wth 10 pounds per month too! :)  With me I have actually only lost weight twice.  I lost 20 pounds within 10 days after my surgery, then didn't lose at ALL for FIVE weeks, then dropped about 16 pounds in a few days and since then nothing!  Crazy. :)  Anyway, I agree about not losing hair etc.  I don't feel good if I do no carb so I try to stay around 40 of carbs per day.

I was sleeved on 3/23. I have lost 40 pounds since surgery with a total loss of 64 pounds since January 1st. I am doing pretty good. I feel good about how much I have lost and I don't really compare myself to others. We all gain and lose at different rates. I am excited about the changes I see in my face and my clothes. I have undergrown all of my clothes now and have had to get new ones (new to me). I eat mostly protein and green veggies. The only food I have struggled with is chicken thighs. It hurts. I consume about 800 calories a day on average and try to walk every day or at least 5 times a week. I am tired a lot of the time but I keep pushing through it. I get all of my vitamins and water in everyday. I feel much better than I did 64 pounds ago. I am glad I got sleeved! It has been a blessing. Thanks for asking. Looks like everyone is rocking their sleeves and we have a large group on the March sleevers losing bench! Congrats to all of my fellow March sleevers!
