I have lying eyes too.  Its cool when folks do not, but I am not one of them.

After reading the boards here I was hell-bent on weighing. Then the NUT at my surgeon's office said that she doesn't want people to weigh because they didn't install a scale in your stomach. A silly argument, but the journals they give you to track all of your food are done in volume, so I track mine in volume just so the NUT doesn't fuss at me, haha.

I know that sounds kinda lame now that I read it. I don't tend to stuff food down, though, since I'm not far enough out to eat much of anything, so volume works for me!

I do both.  If I have a doubt that it might be too much, I weigh it out.  Also, I weigh every couple of days just to make sure my eyeballs are agreeing with my perceived portions.

I am a weigher and have been because I've noticed that like you more can be crammed into a cup, lol.

When I cook a big pot of something.  I weigh the whole thing and then measure it out mathmatically.

People just need to understand that this is about YOU and only YOU.  What works for ME might not work for YOU....*****es!!

I never thought of weighing out a big pot of everything!  I just toss the ingredients together for the now eat!

Since "most" weeks I make my lunch for the week I find that I like making batches of stuff.  This week it was meatballs and YES after I toss in whatever imma add to the balls (ie onion, garlic, seasoning) I actually put the bowl on the scall and pick out 1oz at a time, lol.  Yeah I'm anal (hence the big butt).  And that way I KNOW that I can only eat say 4-5 meatballs and some vegatable which this week was zucchini and again it's 3oz or 100g of zucchini per meal, lol.

I also break down everything I buy when I put it in the freezer, so my breasts and thighs are in little ziplock bags and 4oz each.

Wow that reminded me of the person who had her freezer/refrigerator broke down and color coded back in the day...she was brillant.
