Domination and confusion are my major spiritual gifts, you know.

Well, and misplacing things.

And knowing all the line from "The Jerk."

And this matchbook, and this paddleball game.

I'm a weigher. My food...me...we're both addicted to the scale. :)

At some point, I was read that everything needs to be by volume and so, I grabbed my measuring cup and put my 1/2 cup o' greek yogurt in there. and then I threw it on the scale and it was 5.5 oz. All this time til then, I was religiously eating 4 oz of greek yogurt by weight and doing just fine. It was plenty of food and sometimes it was too much food. I figured it was working, so if it ain't broke, I ain't fixin'.

and like FGLC, if I don't weigh before eating, I will overeat. Almonds? Yep, 10 in my bellah before I measure out my 28g serving for the day. But if I didn't weigh, you can guarantee that I would cram 50 almonds in that 1/4 cup.

There's a reason why I needed this sleeve. I LOVED food and LOTS of it. and I never thought while I ate...just crammed it in. So if I can't cram in my stomach, I'll cram it in that stupid measuring cup. :) a scale keeps me honest.

I really do both.  I use bowls that can only hold about one cup worth of food for any soft food items, and a scale for meats.  If I allowed myself to eyeball it, I would regret it.  My eyeballs lie every chance they get about food.  I would guess most of our eyes lie about food.  Studies have consistently shown that we underestimate how much we have eaten.  How we measure is a personal choice, I find the bowls easiest but people should do whatever works for them.  Why anybody would give you a hard time about this is beyond me.
