Aaaaaah, don't worry bout it.  That's what mothers are for....mine started crying when I hit 250 and almost had a panic attack when I hit 225 lol.  It's just the drastic change...in my case my Mom's reaction was due to some stuff from my childhood...single mother....not a lotta money....if I was eating she was doing her job and I love her for it.

Just keep an eye on your weight, if you get to skinny it might be time to crank up the intake some and stabilize, if you still need to lose more to be comfortable keep it up.  This is about you, your look great in your profile picture...most people's comments are more about themselves than you no matter how well meaning or loving they are intended to be.

I find words like scrawny, tiny, pin ass..... and one of my friends said I looked like a Jockey now......

All seem like a compliment in a warped kinda way !!!

Better than being "fat/huge/Obese"

Don't let it get you down......

Did your mom just roundaboutly tell you you're skinny-fat?

I'm sorry, but it is funny!

Yeah, mom's kinda have a way of making you feel just great about yourself, mine does it too.. It's ok, one of the first things my mom pulled on me when I told her I was having surgery.. don't get too skinny, you know like sick-skinny!! (said while chain smoking)

I'm sitting there just staring at her, like "you do realize I'm pushing 300 right??"

Smile, she says these things becasue she cares, she worries about you.  (fake it if you need to..)

That's why I never told my mom about this.  She always loves me just the way I am and would  not want me to change or get sick form that craziness! I keep telling my girls they have permission to shoot me the day I sound like their granmother!

Sassy,

Scrawny, no way!  Healthier, YES,  HAPPIER?  Y E S !!!!!  I would guess that your mom (like me) thought you were absolutely beautiful before, and well, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.  There is no doubt you look much thinner than you used to, and by comparison, you probably do look "out of place" to HER.  But by no means scrawny!!  You look fantastic, you are better off, and you should not let ANYONE get in the way of that.  We all have our personal reasons for going through this procedure, remember those reasons and anyone who gives you a hard time about it, just chuckle and walk away.  YOU get it, that's all that really matters, right?  Keep up the great work kiddo.

I feel your pain, Sassy! For the record, you are gorgeous now, you will be gorgeous when you hit goal. You would have to work really hard NOT to be gorgeous!

I'm going to see my mom today for the first time since surgery and I know she will say something goofy. My dad will say I look good, then remind me I have a ways to go. Luckily, my sister who had WLS should be there, too, so we can debrief later! (You might recall that this is the same lady who, when I first called from Mexico to say I was ok, started telling me how she had had to buy butter and dish soap for me. No, really, Mom, I'm ok. Thanks for asking!)

Sometimes, you really just have to laugh and be deeply glad you're not them!
Mom to 8, looking forward to a healthy future!
