I have started thinking about plastic surgery, what I may need done, when it will be ok to do..I love my appearance with 80lbs gone...But then I take off my shirt and am reminded of the last 2 decades of my life...

I am guessing I could use a tummy tuck and also maybe a breast lift..

Have any of you gone for consults? How much do each of these procedures run? How long did you wait post op? I know its expensive and am planning on working as much as I can for the next year..How long is recovery?

I have no kids and dont plan on having kids for another 6 years at least so I dont want to wait forever until after I have kids to do it.

I want to be able to wear a 2 piece, to frolick topless on some deserted island if I so chose...

Anyone else thinking about it?

Sigh....
Sassy..

I have been curious about plastic surgery as well. I was roaming the plastics forum a couple of days ago and found the fav doctor in Mexico seems to be Sauceda? He has a lot of great reviews and also a price list. I am way beyond my child bearing years but wonder if tummy tucks are advisable pre child birth... Check out the other forum.

I hadnt thought much about it prevviously. However, the more I am able to take flight with these bat wings, the idea becomes more appealing. LOL

Honestly, I wish I could afford it.  The only thing that worries me, is where would I stop, LOL.  I am just past 1/2 way, so I don't know what I am going to look like yet.  I have had good success with my skin in the past, but I am in my 30's now and I just don't know.  I have to say, the idea of more surgery kind of bums me out.  I would not want to deal with more pain, more time off work - and then would I still look as good as I would like after all that pain and money?  That's what I think about...so I probably wouldn't do it.  If my house ever sells, I probably COULD.  But I don't know how I feel about spending the money for vanity.  I don't think I could justify it to myself - that is ME.  I see nothing wrong with it - I want to be clear, it's just how I am thinking with my economic situation these days.

If you feel uncomfortable and think it would help, then go for it!

I'm only 2 weeks out but absolutely plan on having a breast lift and tummy tuck. After having 4 children, i really need it. I'm guessing maybe I'll wait about 2 years, i want to be at my goal weight for awhile first. As far as cost, it varies depending on where you live. Here in MN id ballpark a tummy tuck and breast lift at 15k.

I just wanted to chime in and say I'm there with ya and I've finally gotten to the point of not needing to feel guilty for acknowledging what I want and GOING FOR IT!

TT would top my list, especially because of the stretch marks.  I'm so close to where I want to be...but hot tubbing last week made me realize the little things that I want to experience.  And I'm not going to feel guilty for admitting it.  I don't even know if I want children, but I certainly want to enjoy my youth and a stomach while I'm here if I do that.  (And maybe I'm the only one, but I get a little ticked when people would ask me pre-vsg surgery "what about children?"--because I'm pretty sure I need to be in a good place for myself first, and frankly that isn't their business, like all women of a certain age must be chomping at the bit to have children--you can tell that frustrated me).

I don't know what to say other than you're a hottie, go for it, and good luck!

The usual answer is to wait until you have lost all your excess or you weight has stabilized for over 6 months.  Many doctors do consults for free.  Ask them about how many of their patients are either WLS patients and/or people who have lost extreme amounts of weight.  Our skin is WAY different then say a mommy make over patients skin.

I can't remember how much JUST my lower body lift cost, but it was a pretty penny.

Hi Sassy!

Wait it out.  You are young enough, started out with a weight low enough, and from your pics, a body that is well proportioned to have a considerable amount of "snap back".  A year from now, your body will probably look so much different than right now especially if you worked on it.  It is said that it takes a year of stabilization for our skin to mold back to where it will be.  Now we will never look like were naturally thin all of our lives (well, I passed and it was terribly hard.  I found myself having to say I used to be heavy.  I didn't want to lose the fat girl, I didn't want her forgotten).  But naked, our bodies can't hide that we have carried 100+lbs of excess weight.

This doc here does some awesome work.  He does a procedure that I don't think anyone else was doing - it is a spiral thigh lift.  Ms. Thunderthighs here.  your fattest area will be your biggest problem area.  More than anything I wanted my innerthighs done but he does this deluxe sort of bonus procedure  that includes the lifting and tightening of a few things.  Look: oops pic failed here's a description though

    1. Spiral Thigh Lift. A spiral thigh lift is the signature thigh lift procedure Dr. Agha developed for those *****quire lower body lift surgery. As the name implies, the spiral thigh lift improves the thigh laxity of the front, back, inner and outer thigh. This procedure combines the incisions of an inner thigh lift with that of a lower body lift to improve the thigh contour circumferentially, to lift the buttocks, to restore an hour-glass waist, and to tighten the lower back and abdomen.
They do an online/Telephone consult by appt.  You must send pics.  I was quoted for everything and I mean every single thing somewhere in the range of $27,000.  Then I felt comfortable with my body after awhile and thought if I had it done that I would wait until after preggos then it probably wouldn't even be important to me.  This is the one pic I have of me on OH

Good luck.  Hang tight for a bit.  I promise you will see your body keep improving.

I have found in my research that tummy tucks in the Seattle area run anywhere between 8,000 -15,000. Breast Augmentation is about 5,000-7,000 but that is just for implants not a reduction or lift. My girl friend just had implants and a tummy tuck last year at the Avalon Clinic. Personally, I wouldn’t let that place perform surgery on my dog, but that is just my opinion. Her surgery ran her 12,000.00 for both procedures. I was with her the whole process, before and after, and have sat in on consults with other close friends.

From my experience most plastic surgeons will not, or are apprehensive about doing a tummy tuck on someone that is planning on having children. It is one of the first questions that they ask, and I am not surprised that they do. I have one child and after seeing how my stomach looked afterwards, I wouldn’t want to ruin $10,000 worth of work. I have had one child and I wasn’t’ really overweight when I had her. I ended up with horrible stretch marks none the less. (Such is my genetic betrayal). Since they remove the excess skin there isn’t as much elasticity after the surgery. Then when you are pregnant the skin stretches additionally, and you could end up with more stretch marks after the tummy tuck than you would have had otherwise. After your pregnancy if you decide you want to have another tummy tuck because of stretch marks, there really isn’t enough excess skin to tuck and then you are stuck with unsightly stretch marks for the rest of your life. I know I would just hate to have a tummy tuck because I want to have a nice flat stomach, then have another child only to be stuck with a messed up stomach for the rest of your life, instead of just a couple of years. I know personally I would rather have a jacked up stomach for a few more years so that I could then have the tummy tuck and enjoy a nice tummy for the next thirty years of my life. I also want to have a breast lift, but don’t want to give up breastfeeding another baby if I decide to have one. Since they remove the nipple to move it up, I wouldn’t be able to breastfeed. Maybe you don’t want to breastfeed so it isn’t a big deal, but I know personally I just like to have options.

Congratulations again on your incredible weight loss!
