I usually eat oatmeal for breakfast. It gives me the carb kick I want/need for the day, and it sticks to my ribs. However, I can't and don't eat first thing in the morning. A cup of coffee is all I can do until around 10. Then I usually have dense protein with salad, or a lettuce wrap for lunch. Another planned snack around 2:30, dinner of protein and veggie around 6, then a small snack before bed.
It's been this way since I had surgery. Lots of small, small meals instead of larger ones. The NUT says I'm doing fine, so no worries. My BMI was lower to begin with, and I have comorbidities that keep me from moving much, so I'm happy.
This is the best thing I've ever done for myself.
And yes, you knew it was coming, THIS IS A GIFT!
