I always think a new 'do does wonders to compliment the weight loss..You could always get a cute new style and eh its hair,. it will grow back, right....crossing fingers..

My hair loss started in month 3.5 and is still going on. It has slowed down though. I have LOTS of very curly hair, so no one else can tell unless you're my mom and have to "feel up" my awesome hair when ever she sees me.   But I haven't seen her since Christmas since she lives 2 provinces away..LOL So I'm good!

Having had 3 babies, I know about temporary hair loss. It bites, for sure, but by the time you really start to worry it stops. Well, that was the case for me anyways. I lose about half my volume, so I just get layers and poof it up a bit more than usual..LOL

I don't dare take biotin though, I'm guessing my chin will be the first place the hair grows faster..LMAO So I am just gonna tough it out!

The hair will grow back!

I started losing hair exactly at month 3. Lots of strands everywhere - in the shower, when I bru**** when I run my fingers through it. No bald spots yet, but I thankfully have very thick hair to begin with so I'm not too worried. I'm hoping to be like Frisco and have fewer grays with the re-growth though!

Im surprised i have hair at this point..I had one day that i posted about on here that i only shed a little bit that day so i thought it was slowing down, but nope..The next day just as bad..I mean handfulls im the shower hand fulls while combing.I can feel how much thinner it has gotten and its driving me nuts..Thank God for my natural curl because that helps alot but Im hoping it soon stops or just slows down...I just restarted takin my prenatals, biotin, and silica so im hoping it helps too.Just got to wait it out i guess.Hoping i have hair at the end of the wait..If not ill just get me a nice lace front wig until it grows back in..

VSG on 01/06/11 with
I had thought that maybe I would be one of the lucky ones, but I've started noticing more hair in my hairbrush.  At first I chalked it up to the fact that I had colored my hair darker and so it was just more obvious in the brush.  But I can't lie to myself anymore, there is more hair in the brush.  Damn!!

well  mine started falling out about 5 months out?  not in clumps,  not a lot in the shower but lots of single strands on my shirts throughout the day :o(   its short,  i think longer hair looks like its so much more loss than short hair looks.   I had really thick healthy hair and no one else noticed,  but i sure did,  It's finally stopped falling out and i think i see some re growth,  but its all part of the fun of vsg right?  But all worth it and it is temporary so hang in there guys  :o) jeani

Hang in there. It does stop...I promise!

I started losing around 2.5 months, and it slowed down around 6 months. I can def. see regrowth and so far my hair is still as curly (and as grey) as before. We'll see what it's like in a few more months as the regrowth gets longer.

FWIW, I'm the only one who noticed it falling out. My stylist couldn't even tell.

My hair started to fall out at about 3 months post op and it is still coming out!  Not nearly as bad, but I still am picking hairs off my shirt, food, desk, etc all day long. At the same time it is growing back in and my hair is looking rather frizzy leaving me in this quandry as to what to do with it. Do I cut it, straighten it, mousse it, nothing really seems to tame the flyaways :) Atleast it is coming back it was starting to get pretty thin on top.

I still havent gotten my VSG yet, but I do have a word of advice for hairloss. I was diagnosed with cancer a few years back and took biotin and did all I could to help with the hair loss and regrowth. I had someone suggested this shampoo and conditioner to me. Bought it, and my hair grew back so quick and sooo thick. I plan to use it when I get the VSG..
It is called Nioxin. You can get it at any of the hair salons like master cuts in the malls and stuff like that. I believe super cuts and best cuts carries it also. Get Nioxin Volume 3, shampoo, conditioner, and scalp treatment. Hopefully it will help you. I know it helped when I lost hair with the cancer, so hopefully it will work the same!! good luck!!
