Roll call/support for all of us whose hair is falling out!

So from this mornings posts I see there are several of us who are now dealing with hairloss..sigh...

As a woman, my hair is part of my image...I am lucky enough to have a big enough mop of it so as my hair falls out (more on my hair brush, way more shedding strands than normal) I have not noticed patches gone or anything yet..But I know there are some women who have thinner hair and really notice it

It sucks either way!!

So I wanted to say to all the other people with VSG hairloss, especially the young women who are probably as sad as I am to be losing it..

We will be ok, we will get through this together, we tried to do everything to avoid it but some of it is inevitable..It will start to regrow within a few months..and we will be ok.

Hugs all around
xoxo

Just a word of encouragement; I had regrowth coming in before the shedding stopped. My hair still got super thin considering how much hair I had pre-op, but it did grow back. It did grow back in stick straight instead of wavy with lots of natural body, but my hair is pretty much back to pre-VSG volume and luster.

VSG hairloss only?  No support for male-pattern baldness?

How about VSG hairloss combined with male-pattern baldness?  I know mine's not growing back!

I think I went through hair loss/thinning between months 3-6

The good news is that it grew back stronger than before with fewer "grey" hairs......and filled in stronger in an area that I was thinning......

I did take Biotin during that time (don't know if it made any difference?) but I think it was/is the high protein that has helped in regrowth.

It was very hard but luckily I have a lot of hair. It started at around 3 months PO and stopped around 6 months with hair already regrowing. I think it's gonna take some time for it to fully grow in, probably within the next year.

Honestly if my hair were thin I would have purchased a few wigs until it grew back.

I've been losing it for about two months now, but it hasn't so far been really horrible.  I do have a TON of hair, though, so I'm not too worried about looking bald.  I figure its one more hassle to get through that I'll survive.

Hang in, sleevers!

I started losing at 2.5 months it is still falling out but not nearly as much.  I don't see regrowth yet, but know it shouldn't be much longer.

Now I am trying to decide to I cut it?  It goes down to the middle of my back, but it is so much thinner and 'looks yucky"....but I don't necessarily want body, I have wavey hair and keeping it longer helps me to keep it straight.  ugh
