I am sick (yet again), sore throat that turned into a cold/upper respiratory infection type mess..

Anyway, when I get sick I notice I lose any appetite that I have, food doesnt look appealing at all. Anyone else notice this loss of appetite during illness? I try to drink shakes when I am sick because its the only way I feel like I can get in any form of adequate nutrition..

Sigh..Cough

Hey Sassy,  sorry that you're not feeling well and hope you feel much better really soon.   I'm sad to say that i NEVER lose my appetite.   Ever,  I love to eat,  even if sick i still have soup and such.  :o) jeani

I am sick for the first time since surgery and it's the same thing.  I'm trying to eat because I am realllly weak and that's not helping me recover.  Today is day 5.  This dumb **** was coughing and sniffing all over me at Rocky Horror Picture show the other night, I figured she had allergies, because WHO would do that to someone?  Turns out people will.  *****  I have been able to eat scrambled eggs mostly.  Some crackers with PB and SF jelly - not something I would normally eat, but I need the fat/calories/protein.  Plus my two Premiere shakes.  Sigh.  Get well soon.

Exact same thing for me.  And I can tell you it has not been like this before. I used to joke I never lost my appetite, but now-totally!  I too have a sore throat, turned to chest ick, and I could care less about food.  I know I am not getting nearly the protein or calories I need, but I can't force it down.  Just what we need, shrunken mini stomachs, lol!!!!

I know exactly what you are talking about. I have no appetite at all when I’m not feeling well. I started adding emergen-c to my water and protein shakes to help boost my immune system. I found since surgery I seem to get sick faster, before I could feel it coming and fight it off. Now it feels like, I have the sniffles or a cough one day and the next day I’m laid out with a cold or flu.

Sorry you are sick again, I hope you feel better soon Sassy

Sorry you don't feel well, Sassy.  But what you're describing is how I feel about food all the time...
