So,we had some friends over for dinner last night. A shrimp starter salad, salmon, asparagus, carrots and homemade mac n cheese. Had some shrimp, no salad, tried to eat my way through a piece of salmon, cooked carrot, no mac n cheese!! I guess I ate too fast again or did one bite too many but boy was I uncomfortable for at least half hour, it felt stuck in my chest, ugh!!!
I wonder if this can hurt the sleeve and even stretch it out??Anyone???

From what I understand, you can't stretch it close to the original stomach, but you CAN stretch it. Once won't do it though - the trick is to learn from your discomfort and not do it again.

At least that's what the long-timers told me when I did something similar with a protein drink early on. And it makes sense.

Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22

175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012

yea I think you can stretch it some from what i read but overeating a couple of times probably wont do it.

i think its part of the process- learning how much is too much and to not over do it to keep your stomach small. some plans say to eat a certain amount X amount of weeks out, but sometimes that is too much for your individual stomach.

:)

I doubt you can stretch things with one slightly too big meal. everybody does this a time or two. I did it to the point of spit up once and a couple of times wish i could have. The part of your stomach that is left is the non stretchy part. thats why this works differently than rny where the pouch is made from a part that can stretch more (i think). so a properly made sleeve shouldn't stretch a whole lot and one meal ain't gonna do it. Live and learn from this. Feels so crappy that you think twice.

At 18 months I still have good restriction and can do this trip on myself if I am not careful. So I am careful and keep gas X handy just in case.    And I asked my surgeon if once healed if I could wreck my sleeve in any way and he said no. So did his colleague. I believe them. Diane
