I haven't tried making the eggbites yet, but I do like the different shake recipes she's offered.

I know what you mean! (another italian here) I actually like the recipes and how the insides tastes, but putting the eggs in the mini muffin tin gives the eggs a weird texture on the outside that I don't like. I was going to try to make her recipe but bake it in a 9x9 pan instead and just cut them into small squares - I think i'll like it a lot more that way.

I made some sausage and pepper bites and I thought they were pretty good.  I also made some cottage cheese white chocolate rasperry pancakes this morning and I thought they were ok.  The chicken cordon bleu was yucky though.

I made some of her Pumpkin Protein Muffins and they were really good. Only problem was I liked them too much and kept grabbing 2 or 3 ever time I walked through the kitchen. Decided these were a no-no food for me. Tried some of the eggbites (dont remember which ones) but wasnt a huge fan of them.

I applaud Eggface for what she's done... Having worked in food business and cookbook arena for many years, I know there is a LOT of research and testing that goes into published recipes. Very hard for one person to do. I don't know if she has experience as a trained chef, but sometimes, that's important. Maybe doing that can take her to the next level.

Some seem divine and I will try after liquids -- some are receipts I've created on my own for years, so they're not all that original (but she copyrights them) and some have no appeal.

If she's helping others with knowledge and information they may not have had before reading her blog, good for her.

Eggface is Italian too!  Some things I didn't care for, some things I love.  If you find a protein powder you really like, try her protein ice creams.  I've tried with her recommended protein, EAS, and I don't like it, but with Any Whey it's pretty good - try her butter pecan!  Also the eggbites work for me, although I make them in a regular muffin tin.  And her ricotta bake, why worry about lasagna when you can have THAT, mmmmmm!

The only thing I've made was the spinach and feta eggbites. I thought they were great, but I did modify the recipe some. Haven't tried anything else though. I don't buy all of those flavored syrups because there is no room in my kitchen to store them.

I'm also Italian, but a proficient cook of many varieties of foods; so is wifey.  We occassionally used some new recipies from a variety of sources, but mostly we just adapt many of our tried-and-true recipies we've used for years.  We'll make meat loaf, fish, shrimp, or chicken dishes with an emphasis on high-protein, low-sugar, low-fat, low-carb, etc., but the key for me is primarily "portion control."  A little bit of this or that isn't going to ruin my day (I log everything I eat, so I know what's what.)
Hey, one of the primary reasons I signed on for this sleevie thing, was to have as normal a life-style post-op as possible.  Right now we eat about 85% of the same things; she makes some things for herself that I don't want and we both use smaller plates.  Tonight, we're going to a regular "supper club" that we belong to and, while the members have been great in supporting me, they may or may not bring "healthy" items to the dinner - it's up to me to evaluate what's there and what I can or cannot eat.
Also, I found early on, that spending a lot of time working on a new recipie had much less appeal to me post-op - partially b/c my tastes have changed somewhat and partially b/c I can't eat enough of anything to make the time spent worthwhile.  My exceptions to this would be chili, stew, soups, and other things that I make for 3 to 5 meals.
Lastly, I think making food "boring" is a good thing for me during my weight-loss phase.

Personally, I hate substitutions. Some things weren't designed to be healthy and trying to force them to be makes them gross. That's just me... But that is why I never make any bariatric recreations..

I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!

Fawn, you & I are so often on the same page !!

I just eat regular food, no substitutions for low fat or low carb or low cal. just FOOD.  I think we are very lucky people!

OR maybe it wasn't luck?  I think I was a lightweight and have a good metabolism because I started reading Geneen Roth in my 20s and then spent the next few decades getting obese slowly but NOT yo-yo dieting.

I made a deliberate decision NOT to diet - because it doesn't work - and that has served me well as a post-op.

you?

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.
