Feeling like a fat slob..

So my surgery isn't for another month or so (June 9th) and in the meantime I've been keeping busy with finals and graduation coming up (FINALLY!). Been having lots of all-nighters and study groups and the like. I'm also getting ready to move back home for the Summer, so that in itself is a huge ordeal. Moving cross country is no fun.

I thought maintaining my weight until surgery wouldn't be a problem since I've been at 285 for the last 6 months or so. However, I weighed myself this morning and I've gained nearly 7 pounds in TWO WEEKS! And it's entirely my fault. I feel like poop. This isn't the way I planned for the month before my surgery to go.

I really, really, want to lose these 7 pounds before I start my 2 week pre-op diet but with all the graduation festivities coming up within the next couple of weeks and the moving and such, I feel like all I'm going to be doing is gaining even MORE weight.. I'm so upset at myself right now. I seriously can't wait until I have my surgery. I don't have the self control to do this on my own. :(

Sorry, just needed to vent a little. I'm all sorts of stressed out and needed get this out.

Don't feel bad. Its the reason I made this choice myself. And probably alot of other people. Don't beat yourself up. Do what you have to do now. And worry about the pre-op diet when its time.

You (literally) have a lot on your plate, so cut yourself some slack.  We've all been there- stress eating.  Although gaining weight is never good, you are facing so many stressful things right now that beating yourself up about it won't help..  Just relax and think about where you will be in a year from now!  Good luck on your upcoming surgery and congratulations on your graduation!

So..... Start thinking about what you are putting into your mouth now..  Start practicing what you will HAVE to do after surgery.

The surgery is on yout stomach, not your head.  You'll have to get your head in the game also.  It's hard.. But it is so worth the work.

I don't intent to sound mean... But you have to get started holding yourself accountable sometime.

Dude, I was there last year...I say that for now, you just need to focus on getting through finals and graduation first. No use stressing yourself out at the moment about weight. Graduating from college is a big ******g deal--I say deal with the pre-op diet after the stuff you need to get through first. Trust me when I say, if you are on a liquid diet, you will lose those 7 lbs. plus more before surgery. Enjoy this time, now! And Congratulations!

aww hun don't beat yourself up!!! In 30 days your new life will begin!!! Just pick yourself up and shake it off. Or lean on your OH friends to help ya out! You did the right thing by posting your feelings. We all have them and need support. Take little steps for the week. Little challanges not all at once. Like try just getting the proper amount of water in a day, and be proud of yourself for it when you have! There is soooo much going on and the 'weighting' game for surgery is no fun I know. Just baby steps hun!
