Two weeks out...could use some feedback
wow, these responses have been fantastic. Thank you everyone for taking the time to respond. I think I am going to have my first "meal" tonight: a little smoked salmon with a little mayo and some pickle or pickle relish (ran through the blender to make it tiny pieces of course). I am VERY excited for that. Then maybe a little egg salad for breakfast tomorrow.
Thanks again all. you guys are great!

My first mushy meal was like a shrimpy lasagne, I shredded shrimp in the bullet, mixed with ricotta that had some pulverized italian seasoning in it, put a bit of marinara on top and covered with cheese and baked it!
I also tended to use capers instead of pickles in my early out meat salads.
Enjoy your realish foods!

All very common, the gurgling was the weirdest.
The vitamins, especially the B12 will definitely help out. You taking iron too right? My doc requires a good multivitamin, iron, b12, and calcium later in the night.
My first mushies were over medium eggs, mashed potatoes, pickles, and fruit. The first meat I tried was actually some deli turkey/ham wrapped around pickle spears or cheese. Eat very slow, chew very well, take time between bites.
I gradually worked my way up to steak, scrambled eggs, chicken fajita meat, and pretty much anything else not fried.
It's a very hard thing to get used to, I probably ate too little for a while because I didn't wanna get sick. Once you feel full it might already be too late, just take it slow and easy.

1. Try room-temp liquids...sometimes cold stuff makes the pouch "act up"
2. Tiredness - There are generally 2 causes - one is the low calories your taking in...the other is whats called the WALL...some hit it at 2, some at 3 others at 4 weeks out. Like we are running full speed and smakc into the wall.....
3. Muchies - Stay away from fats (mayo) as much as you can. I follow an RNY diet - low fat, low carb. Mushie up proteins. It will help UP your protein intake and give you more energy.

Well I just finished my first real meal in over a month!
2 tbsp of smoked salmon "salad" with pickles and a little mayo, pureed.
2 tbsp of egg salad with celery salt and a tsp of pickle juice.
YUMMY!! It was SO good. I finished all but about 1 1/2 bites of the salmon, just too full. I took 23 minutes to eat it all. Nice and slow. Now I'm mad thirsty, but have to wait another 15 minutes.
Father Don, I hear you on the mayo. I didn't use much in either "salad", just enough to bind it together and give it a little creaminess so it would slide down ok.
But so far so good. Been done for 15 minutes. Still full, no nauseau, and it all seems to be sitting well. Thanks again all for the input!
