Need opinions- Ladies-Do you use something other than the Pill?
Just wanted to get some experiences and opinions from those of you who use birth control other than the pill. Do the other kinds make you gain weight? Fall out?
Of course I will be speaking to my gyn also but I wanted to see if there were better options than the pill...

My surgeon recommended doubling up with condoms/spermicide etc etc if I went on bc especially when using a hormonal option. Not fun, I know I know, but I hate hormonal bc so we were a condom couple once he got home from deployment (that 7 months of forced celibacy, and 80lb weight loss = lots of sex). I was straight up paranoid to get knocked up before goal LOL.
I know a couple of ladies that went with Depo shots, and they stalled out and gained. 2 were RNY'ers, 1 was a VSG'er that had surgery back when I did. I hear the Mirena and other IUD options are more effective. My surgeon was mainly worried about the hormone fluxes post-op, and not really absorbing bc pills properly, but that with all the hormone changes, the pill might lose some efficacy.

We practice the pull and pray… only neither of us are religious so there is no pray… just lots of pulling. I know this is not the most reliable method but the beast seems to have his timing down cause we have not had any unexpected pregnancies in 7 years?!?! I am not a fan of hormonal BC, I tried once for like 7 days and felt like a wreck. I am making him get snipped soon!

Julissa ad Danease- do you guys already have children? I was interested in the IUD but I dont have children and it looks like you are supposed to have at least 1 before they will implant it.
Arg...I dont plan on having kids for at least 5 years and I am sick of the rollercoaster with the pill (and i suck at remembering to take it)
