Hey guys, I am hoping that by staying accountable on here I will meet my weightloss and fitness goals.

My newest goal will be to shave time off my mile. I HATE running, always have since I was little. I have started enjoying interval running/walking. I would like to shave minutes off my mile so I figured I would share this goal. My best time so far is a pathetic 15 minutes. I will keep you guys posted to see if I can do better.

I am a little worried though, I am having surgery on Thursday on my ovary and will be on exercise restriction and weight restriction for a few weeks after...Hope I dont lose too much of the progress I have made..

xo

Sassy,

I think you will be fine. But I can understand your concern. 15 min mile isn't bad. (I hope that's what you were talking about) I've always loved running until I picked up weight, but now I'm running about 1 mile in 11 mins. So I do 3 miles in about 34 mins give or take a few seconds/minute.

So how long will you be down for? I'm sure you will be able to hit the gym soon especially with your motivation!

Sheka-
An 11 minute mile is great! I would be thrilled to get there. My best friend is a runner and I would love to run with her when I get more consistent.

And running 3 miles at a time. Ha!  I will use you as my motivation to try and keep up!

I will let you guys know how it goes...

good for you Sassy!  15 minute mile is impressive in my book. My body is simply not made for running, I am too short and squaty, I wish I could run but I just can't.  Keep us posted on the run and the surgery :)

This is exactly what I'm doing on my treadmill.  I think a 15 min/mile is awesome, not pathetic.  Heck, I was excited Friday doing a mile in 16min/40seconds.  Walk at 3.7 then jog for one minute every 5 minutes.  Hope that's not confusing.  By 35 minutes the sweat is dripping off me and I feel a real sense of accomplishment!  Good luck to you.

Oh I hated Fridays in school cuz those were the dreaded 1 mile running days, i was ALWAYs the only one that held the class back till the end of the gym time cuz i had to literally walk the whole 4 laps of the track! i was much slower and i finally started getting fake notes and excuses from my Dr. to get out of doing it at school..to avoid the pain and embarassment and physical inability!

So secretly, even I have a goal to be able to run that 1 mile fully so am rooting for you girl and hope to make that goal myself someday.  right now i walk all the way on the treadmill for the mile. i tried running for a few mins (hanging onto the HR monitor the whole time tho!) hehe.

anyways.. best of luck to you, kudos to you for having such a healthy goal and im happy to be sharing this similar goal with you secretly!

Sheka - i am also truly inspired by your running and stamina for it!! i hope to get there with you guys someday as well!
