Husbands.... sometimes ya can't stand 'em and sometimes they surprise you.
A little background: My husband and I will be celebrating our 6th anniversary in about two weeks. We have had ROUGH times these 8 years we've been together.... including separating twice. But we've made it through and we're going strong now. When we first met I was roughly 220lbs and over the course of the 8 years I have allowed myself to balloon up to 350lbs. My husband has stayed a steady 180-190lbs and in recent days has dropped to 170.
Since deciding to have WLS and starting my 6 month supervised diet and all of this pre-journey work I've lost 30lbs and gained a LOT of information, insight and really just self awareness. I'm guilty of being on OH a LOT and of course the before and after pictures are one way I love to pass the time.
Last night I was showing him (yet again) a before and after photo and he gave the usual response of how that was awesome and she should be so proud of herself. When prompted he would say yes, that she indeed did look good and healthy now. Blah blah blah. He's been over this a million times on OH with me. LOL
But last night was different. When he started to walk away he stopped himself and turned back to me and said, "Ya know, you've got to stop fixating on what you'll look like at the end of this and how pretty you'll be then and start looking at who you are now and how beautiful you are today."
I bawled like a baby.

Awe, that is so sweet. Not often you find a man that is capable of something that deep. I am fortunate enough to have one(2nd husband that is, my 1st never said anything thoughtful and sweet like that...I did much better the 2nd time around) that is sweet and thoughtful too. Your husband is right though, you are beautiful now.
