I'm almost a week out and every time I fall asleep I have the most vivid, almost *****graphic, dreams about eating food. I can smell it, taste it, feel it in my mouth...

Never in my dreams do I realize that I'm sleeved.

It's so strange. Anyone else dreaming about food as much as I am?

The same thing happened to me for my first two weeks after surgery, that's so funny. I would fall asleep at night and have, like you said, the most vivid dreams about food and in my mind I would flip out because I'm like, Oh no, I'm going to mess up my sleeve or pop the staples.  Then I would wake up and realize it was a dream.  It was kinda nice because in my dreams, I could taste the food and smell it and it was kinda a way of cheating but not cheating, lol.  I'm now six weeks out and really don't have them anymore, it's too bad, lol.  I'd maybe like to dream about tasting a big piece of cake, hehe.  Have a great day!

I'm sorry. When I read your post, I had to LOL. The first few days after surgery, I thought about food every minute of every day and thought I'd done something horribly wrong, but now I'm 5 weeks out and food just isn't a priority anymore and it's not the focus of my day. Hang in there - it gets much better!!

I'm so glad I'm not crazy!

I have been having those dreams too!  Meatloaf, spagetti, pizza, chimichanga, cornbread, hamburgers........they tantalize and torture me in my dreams!

The other day I almost cried during a Big Mac commercial because I'd never again eat a Big Mac.  I never did eat Big Macs!  Now the seem like manna from heaven.

Samething during an IHOP commercial.  Got tears in my eyes over a stack of pancakes!  I HATE pancakes!

I think it's just our bodies and our minds coming to grips with our new tummys and getting a grip on the new life style we have chosen.

Chin up!  It will get better I'm told!

YES! I had such vivid dreams the first 2 weeks after surgery. Strangely enough, they were never about food. But they sure were fun! I seriously looked forward to going to sleep to see what my dream would be!

Sadly, the really vivid dreams have ended :(

Yeah I had dreams about food.  Now I don't- since I can most anything I have found out that I really don't like a lot of my previous supposed fav foods.

Example I don't like most breads/ pastas anymore.   They just don't do it for me.  The reason is when you can only have a bite or two of pasta it's no fun.  Pasta was an exercise in gluttony for me (shield size plate of pasta preop) honestly what I have found I like most is regular skim milk.

Also your perceptions will change.  Yesterday was birthday parties at church.  And I was looking at other people's plates and was amazed how much food they were eating.  A friend of mune was eating a big double cheeseburger, I had a third of a regular cheesburger with the bread thrown away.  People kept giving me strange looks like I was crazy for not having huge plates.  But I just don't want them.  I had a small piece of cake (mandatory) and at about 2 oz's of it to be polite.  It really did not do anything for me.

At the end of the day I had eaten 800 calories total for the day and my friends were all complaining how they needed to diet.  So don't worry the food porn dreams will pass and you will find your sleeve working very nice for you.
