Philly bound...
Leaving for Philadelphia soon! I will be sleeved tomorrow morning at 8am!!! I live about 2 hours away so my parents and I are heading down tonight and staying in a nearby hotel. I have to be at the hospital by 6am...yikes.
I'm a little excited and a little nervous...both to be expected. I think my worst fear is that somehow I will be like the only person in the entire universe this doesn't work for! haha
Lots of well wishes to all those having surgery tomorrow as well.
Thanks to everyone for sharing your stories and advice. You all rule :)

You are going to do great and you will be recovering just in time to come to a meetup for the philly/nj/pa area in June. Let me know if you are interested, I am going to firm up the location and date this week and will send details

You are going to do GREAT! Dr G and his staff are wonderful! And the hospital was awesome too! I had no real pain - just achy - and no complaints after my surgery (just some nausea but that was from the pain meds - once I stopped them, I had no pain and no nausea). My sleeve is the best thing I've ever done for myself and I have zero regrets! And its a good thing to be the first of the day (I was too) because then you'll be taken on time and you'll be in your room by noon. You'll sleep and rest on day 1 and then walk, walk, walk, sip, sip, sip on Day 2. I was discharged by 6pm on day 2. They'll tell you that you have to walk, keep down some chicken broth, and pee on your own in order to be released. Trust me - this will work for you! Good luck!!
