For pre-ops and Newbies: The universal truths/what to expect
OK so this is for the pre-ops, newly-sleeved, and those lurking hoping to have surgery:
These are the things I know to be true about the VSG:
1. You may or may not have gas pains after surgery.
2. Your recovery may be a breeze, or it may be hard
3. You may never feel hunger or your hunger may never go away
4. You may lose your taste for sweets or your sweet craving may increase
5. You may see clearer skin after surgery or you may break out
6. You may be ready to go back to work right away or you may need a while feel like yourself
7. You may start to love the way you look or you may be more self conscious
8. Your relationship may get stronger or you may drift apart
It is obvious that the truth is there is no one truth! No VSG is the same, we all have very different experiences after surgery. I have spent many nights reading all I can from others and also posting about the experience myself and the common theme is that everyone is very different. Find what works for you, within your plan, and use the veterans and others and their posts and experiences to arm yourself with knowledge because it really makes a difference and helps you to undertsand this crazy process!
Good luck to you!

Oh, oh, I have some!
1 - You may wish you had done this much sooner or you may wish you hadn't done it at all.
2 - You may get lot's of support in your WLS effort from your spouse or you may get absolutely none as they just pout.
3 - You may still drewel over the fast food commercials on tv or the sight of those foods may repulse you instead.
